This was interesting to watch. It shows me that I need to be "snobby" in rec play and try to set a foursome with the best players available that day. I would rate myself about a 3.75 but I want to improve and I cant do that by putting my paddle just randomly in the queue.

DUPR is creating a lot of damage at the local level. It is used to admit players into groups and leagues, but the numbers make no sense for folks who have not played enough tournaments to reach statistical significance.

Lots of comments on my shirt - that's fine, keep 'em distracted from my devastating forehand! After no more DUPR data following that tournament, my singles DUPR rating is 4.8 - not what you all thought after watching a few points! I did go on to win Silver at that USAP Diamond Amateur Championship in 4.0 in Pictona, losing to a player with a 5.24 doubles rating...let's help DUPR reduce sandbagging!

@ericrhinehalt1206

This is interesting. I signed up for DUPR and yet to record a match. I do get grabbed by the strong group when I show up solo at the park with the highest end pick up. Guy at Y who suggested DUPR and runs DUPR events is around 4.0 and I am significantly stronger. You guys were accurate enough that it seems like there could be some DUPR eval for new players. I barely touched a racquet for 10 years after college but went to a rating event to get an entry level 4.5 rating. 20 years and a ruptured achilles later I retired the racquet as finally bumped down to 4.0. I figured I was probably 4.5ish in Pickle, but seeing some of these I may be underestimating. I would have guessed most low except the huge leg guy. I found the interesting part the “Investing in the game” part. When I first started I was playing with this heavy wooden thing from Dicks. Then someone was embarrassed to play with me so gave me a Head Edge. On my second hand me down, an Inviticus amped, but now that I am Pickle only I suspect I need carbon and a long handle to be accepted and play my natural two fister. Enjoy the channel

People tend to think ratings are lower when watching gameplay online for some reason. A 5.0 never looks like a 5.0 to spectators on the internet 😂
@GoodnotGreat88

@@sheaunderwood same thing is true in other sports when people watch an NFL qb miss his 40yd throw by a yard and they start yelling at the tv they could make that throw. For whatever reason, it looks so much easier when we watch someone else do it than when we try ourselves.

Eventually there will be no money in the game because it will be flooded with equal talent. I guarantee you. It’ll start happening in the next few years. Save this so you can come back and say I was correct. There is barely any money now for most.
