Well said Lee, Christmas can be lonely for some people and your Mum was spot on kindness costs nothing, if you are fortunate enough to be able to help someone less fortunate, if you can't a smile or spending time to listen can mean the world, also a time to think of those who are sadly no longer with us but will never be forgotten.

Good to see you having a wholesome meal! It looked delicious. Great cathedral. I hauled myself up Steep Hill one year when I came back from Australia and saw the large plaque inside the Cathedral door, commemorating Sir Joseph Banks who logged all the botanical items found on Cook’s voyages. He also made financial contributions to the expedition. A Lincoln lad.

First Christmas without my husband, he was my life. Thanks for your kind words, I know I am not the only one dreading this time of year. Lost him last Christmas Eve. On a lighter note, the pie looked lovely but I have noticed you don't take Ange to the more expensive places, she normally has to put up with Spoons lol.

I have lived in the South West for twenty yeas but previously fifteen years in a village North of Lincoln. I miss virtually nothing of living up there but I am still fond of Lincoln. I went to Browns pie shop in those days and it was excellent. The nearest thing there is where I live now closed down during lockdown. They did great game pies too. I have lost people close to me as we all have and have known times where I haven't known where the next penny is coming from. That said I don't think we should live our lives walking on eggshells. The greatest antidote to sorrow is making others happy. Love one and other.

Nine years for me and thirty years since dad died it's still a time of year that can upset , also lost my only sibling in 2008 heartbreaking 💔. I have my son though and he still lives with me at 30 , so I'm not completely alone . Really beautiful looking food , a special treat if you like a pie . Hello Lee yes totally agree with you with Christmas being a emotional time for any of us that have lost family and i share with you about losing my mum, everything we did as a family was with her involved so thank you. I thought that handmade pie and mash and beautiful coloured vegetables was very nice and totally worth it and supporting a family business is very important. I work in food production as a baker so know as well to make a quality item needs quality ingredients, the pastry would of been made with butter and good cuts of beef as well. Many thanks and lincoln looked amazing.

Hi I was in Lincoln on Thursday also and having watched a lot of your other videos, especially the fish and chip reviews, would have liked to have met you in person. I have had several take away pies from Browns pie shop, the quality of which are indeed second to none, but have never sat in the restaurant something I’m now looking forward to doing following your video. The only problem with your videos, which I tend watch in the evening, is that they start to make me extremely hungry and leave me salivating at the sight of the food. Just keep ‘em coming.

Interesting you use your fork 'the wrong way up' - never noticed that before! Contraversial? Looks like a really nice place anyway - love to try the Cheese Pot Pie and Fish Pie. Great review - the food looked lovely. You challenge anyone to identify a better pie, so let me have a go. Rules Restaurant on Maiden Lane, Covent Garden, London does absolutely astounding Steak & Kidney Pie and Puddings. If you look at the website its got a doorman outside and its fabulously decorated etc but two things - one is its very reasonably priced and two it is not precocious at all. Best steak and kidney pies ive ever tasted. Go along - perhaps with DJ.

HeyLee! You honestly don’t need to apologise for being human and are entitled to get emotional about things. We as the MacMaster friends are here to listen If you need to get things off your chest. This time of year isn’t easy for many out there. My husband lost his dad in his early 20’s and his mum a few years later so he can relate how it feels. You mum would be so proud of the man you are I absolutely love the Tudor cities visit in his country. Chester. Lincoln and York I have seen. Now to the pie, I almost fell off my chair when saw price was £20 that. I realise you paid a little extra for special mash but - Ow much. That’s very expensive. As long as you enjoyed it’s okay for a treat. After all it’s Christmas time. Take care 😘👍🏻
