Great conversation as always❤ The Palestinians and conscious Jews who have educated the world about the realities of what is happening in Palestine have shone the light into the darkness. We (here in the States) are seeing the truth of what's been going on, we empathize, and our hearts break. As a black American on the issue of patriotism, I lean toward Amara's observation that black US patriotism isn't nearly as robust as Sufyan expressed. (57:10) I am proud of my city, state, and aspects of my country, but that is different than being "patriotic." Keep up the great conversations, because I've learned so much about your faith, perspective, and culture.

Great conversation. Can relate to a lot of it. It was nice you hear from you both too. Just a quick question: where did you read that 1000 Israelis were killed by Hamas. Seems unrealistical for gun men to kill so many people on an hour or two. It took Israel almost 20 days to kill 7000 and that was using airstrikes and modern weaponry.

Agreed. It also seems unrealistic that Hamas would be allowed that much time to roam freely in Israel. 🤔

Great video as always guys. But i Have to disagree on one point you made about boycotting. It shouldn't be a short term thing. We've done the short term boycotting time and time again, it hits the companies sales and revenue a little, they take a hit for a few months, and then we're all back to giving them our money to fund this atrocity. They know, or at least they believe, that the boycott will only be short term, because that's what it has been like in the past. So how is that really going to affect anything? Its not news to them that Israel are and have been committing war crimes for decades. So that message is already loud and clear. The message we want to send is, if you (the company we are boycotting) continue suporting Israel, funding them, etc, you will not have our custom. WE will not be complicit. WE will not fund them via McDonalds, Disney, Starbucks, Tesco, etc, etc. Surely we want to put our money elsewhere, in companies that don't have affiliations with illegal Israeli settlements, and the IDF. Please can we all try to make a lifelong change in our spending habits, until companies get the message that UNTIL they cut off their ties to Israel, we won't be giving them our money. Surely that's the prupose of a boycott. 🤷

ASA WR WB I really appreciate your content and support your work especially now! Alhamdulliah and thank you. one critique it is a bit humorous you think credible people are below 35 ? and 40's and up are elders?!?! ummm that is a very ancient lesson and far older that 40's or "elders" as you state is my critique. In order to get critical awareness has been taught for eons though I will acknowledge that it is not the mainstream and it is a far more complex road to travel and worthy yes. Chris Hedges Noam Chomsky are scholars in the west that have been teaching writing producing critical work just to name two contemporary for longer than most of us have been alive. They also have all of their colleagues peers and then the global world of critical scholars producing articles books movements that have been part of the history of our humanity. Which I will stress why the importance of humanities in education curriculum is absolutely critical worldwide and should be well funded.Because one who has been well educated in the humanities would make statements that honor the right side of history that is informed articulate and they have been made and are made and in production in the humanities! I must give honor and respect to the intellectual giants that we have been afforded the privilege to stand upon globally and we know what we know because of them. And it is our duty as humans especially muslims to respectfully seek knowledge and truth and justice and are many scholar warriors that have been doing so throughout the course of humanity that quite frankly are too long to list here but are there have been there and have stood the test of time and will be there far longer than any of us and I thank Allah swt for giving us the grace and opportunity to learn from "elders" scholars that have been in the fight in the struggle in the battle for emancipation. I again wish you well and am grateful for you sharing information.

W/Salaam. Totally agree. We actually mentioned that “aside from credible journalists, scholars etc”, the youth can drive change. This was pertaining strictly to the realm of social media and exposing fake news with the real footage being shared on Insta, Twitter to the elder generation who would otherwise not interface this way. It was not to dismiss real academics and people of knowledge. Listening back, I understand how this can be the takeaway but not intended. Totally agree with you!
