Hello Adam as usual very informative and scientific slightly complicated... But spread gene may be easy to get but when is got other genes then it gets complicated for me.. But I wanted to see if u had the chance to get a genitic map of these genes.. It's doable but it's done for the research purposes.. In many universities like Exeter in UK and others

Some universities have begun mapping the genes and chromosomes, yes. Utah and Texas in USA for example. One day I'm sure we'll have a complete map.

Hello from Romania, Adam ! Could you make a specific video about the similarities and differences between dominant red (ash red) and recessive brown (dark red) and their spread mutations genes and also how to identify them more easily? It's about the type of racing pigeons. Thank you in advance! 🤝 P.S. Congrats and many thanks for what you do !

Nice video. One I'll be re-watching. Thanks :-) I'm testing what I learn from your channel by trying to guess the phenotype of friends' pigeons. Of course I have a long way to go! I was puzzling over one yesterday. I couldn't find anything from a reliable source about "mottle", is it a combination of genes (like almond is)... could that be a topic for a video?

Hi Adam. Any idea how we can breed a black whiteside pigeon? I recently acquired one hen. Are there chances to breed more black whiteside from this hen by pairing with a blue bar cock since the black whiteside contain spread gene?

Hi Adam, when you say 1 copy or 2 copies what do you mean, is it one parent or two parents
@AdamArcherPigeons
3 жыл бұрын
Pigeons can have two slots at each autosomal gene. They get one from each parent.
@divyaswejan431

Bro one doubt please tell me , is there any chance to say the bird is heterozygous spread or homozygous spread?
@AdamArcherPigeons
3 жыл бұрын
Not visually. But if the bird didn't have two spread parents then it cannot be homozygous spread, and if it only breeds spread babies then it must be homozygous.

How does one ever produce an Indigo without having one to begin with 🤷🏻♂️
@AdamArcherPigeons

Without a 1-in-a million mutation, you cannot. Indigo is a common colour though, it should be easy to find someone who has it.

Adam Archer Pigeons I’m trying to find an indigo in Portuguese Tumblers without any success yet, my project at the moment is producing blacks, so a dark T check with the “black bar on the tail” paired with a blue bar or another T check has a chance of producing blacks ?
@AdamArcherPigeons

@@tp8025 No, without the spread gene you cannot produce "true" blacks. You can get quite dark pigeons with T-Check though.
