In November 2018 I adopted Pixie. She was only 2 months old at the time and had no idea she was pregnant. She grew naturally with her pregnancy and as it was just with the 1 baby, her belly did not look larger than normal for her age.
In January I woke up and spotted something tiny dart across the enclosure. Thinking my eyes were playing tricks on me I tried to brush it off then saw it again. I ran over to the enclosure and saw a tiny baby guinea pig.
Of course I freaked out, trying to work out who was the mum (Pixie was with Luna at the time) and got them all to the vets to be checked over. The vets had more fun fussing over Piglet that they didn't charge me anything for the visit.
I knew straight away that I was going to keep him. I wasn't sure what to call him and thought "what are baby guinea pigs called?", when I found out they are called pups I said "how strange, wouldn't it make more sense to call them piglets?" and like a lightbulb moment I knew to call him that.
We had the best cuddles and he was my go to piggy when I was feeling sad. Definitely a big part of my life is missing now and this video is to honour his memory.
