Here is another video of the pileated woodpecker for you to enjoy. It features the same pair of birds as the first video but new footage has been added and very unique still images have been included as well. Several reasons have prompted me to re-issue and to re-edit this visual material. First and foremost it was the news that the American Birding Association had designated the pileated woodpecker as the "Bird of the Year for 2021". Personally I was delighted and wanted to celebrate that event. People are now looking for videos on KZitem but there seem to be not many available. Secondly, a Native-American nature photographer and friend of mine, Carol Stedman, who introduced me to this nest took some very unusual images that need to be seen by everyone. I never encountered both parents on the nest.
Finally, a minority of viewers of my first video objected to the choice of background music. A few even wondered about the term "trickster" used in the title. If viewers would take the time to read the accompanying text, it would have cleared up some of the confusion. The story of the trickster was closely linked to the kind of music I chose. I urge viewers to read the description that is associated with every video. Whenever possible I try to explain elements of the story in the text that cannot be shown in the video.
In this video I have changed the music and enhanced the ambient sounds. I want to thank everyone who visits my channel and continues to come back.
