I was here last week. The town is looking absolutely wonderful after things went downhill a few years ago. Well done to all residents and concerned stakeholders who decided that enough was enough and took over the rejuvenation of an important historic gem! After all, this is the site of the first gold rush in South Africa in 1873, and only the third place in the world (after Philadelphia, USA and Kimberley) to acquire electricity. Well worth visiting or researching!

I was there this past week. The road, including Robber's Pass, is not at all bad! I expected worse, but was surprised. Most potholes have been patched. There are a few dodgy areas, but stick to the speed limit and you'll be fine.
