Mrs. Ford-Smith, my paternal grandfather died in 1957. Back then, floral arrangements had real silk ribbons on them. My aunts made pillows from his ribbons using this method.

What stunningly beautiful work!!! I have never heard of pinecone quilts before! I clicked on your video out of curiosity, but I'm now itching to try this technique, just to see what it's like to work with! Your choice of fabrics (especially the greens) makes me just MELT! Two questions occur: 1) How much do these quilts weigh, compared to traditional quilts of similar dimensions, and 2) Can they be laundered at all? If so, would the entire quilt need to be pressed with a hot iron to reshape it? Hmm... I guess that's three questions! But I'm so thrilled to have found your video & book, and I'm royally glad that you had Miss Sue in your life! Everyone needs a Miss Sue! Thank you (and Miss Sue) so much for sharing! 😺💕🐾

The green quilt weighs 28 pounds, 100 x 82 inches. There is no pressing. The green quilt was completed in 2014 and has never been pressed. I fold them with the fabric folded on the inside and place tissue paper in the folds for storage. They have never been washed just aired out and refolded from time to time. Washing them would be a back breaking job and is usually not necessary.Keep in mind, this is all handmade. Thank you for viewing the video. I hope you will buy the book.

God bless you and Miss Sue ❤ Absolutely stunning ❤❤❤ Do you know about how much fabric it takes to make a queen size?
@butlersmith7084
Жыл бұрын
A double size quilt 80 x 90 takes approx. 53 to 56 yards of fabric, cutting each square as a 5 x 5 and folding it into a triangle. Then you have to account for spacing which can make you use more or less fabric. I do know you will fold over 4,000 triangles. Thank you
