Tina is studying at a University at present in Paris. She has put her youtube activities on hold while she concentrates on her chosen field of study. Sounds like a pretty smart move. I was fortunate when I asked about her wellbeing (the same as everyone else), because a relative of hers replied and filled me in on her activities. The conversation did not get all that deep so I am unaware of Tina's chosen field but I can just pray every night and hope to live long enough to see her, centre stage with a Symphony Orchestra. I pray also, that she's studying Music.

Close your eyes when listening to this. The feel is there, the necessary technique is there, the bends are there, the pinch harmonics are there, even if in slightly different places. I’ve heard this outro 200 different times, and can tell you that Ms. Tina S. grasps it in a most beautiful and honorable way. I’ve played in rock bands for 30 years, and can attest you don’t need a “guitar face” to feel and translate soul and feeling to a solo or riff or rhythm part. Bravura performance.

It's funny, I disagree highly with people who think she didn't put her spin on it. Sure she's not shredding all over it with sweeping and tapping but there is a huge difference in her vibrato. The first thing I noticed about her playing was her forceful vibrato. In order to accent notes in fast music you really gotta get there quick, she seems to have amazing left hand strength for that and you can hear it in how fast she gets to pitch in this song. It's like she's playing it with more like a cross between a Yngwie and Petrucci vibrato than a Gilmour one.

The funny thing is this young lady's version speaks to me even louder. Perhaps it is simply that phenomenal vibrato. As you say, incredible hand strength for one so young. Now what we really need to hear of course is what she can do with a composition of her own. I'd buy it 'sight unseen'. Or should that be heard?

God, I hate to keep harping on these transparently jealous negative comments, but I don't suffer fools. Firstly, one comment about learning to bend or apply vibrato like Gilmore takes "years of practice." If it takes you years, you may want to consider taking up the flute, or better yet the kazoo (with all due respect to flute players). or the comment on her cover of either Jason Becker or Gary Moore that she did it by "just looking at tablature." If you truly believe this, you've betrayed your own ignorance. no player at this young an age, with this level of playing ability, accomplished it by cutting corners. I'm willing to wager you could stick the charts of any song she hasn't played, and she'd be able to play it without listening to it first. and to watch this, but complain and focus on her amp/effects settings or guitar of choice is like watching someone turn water into wine, then complaining that the vintage doesn't pair right with the meal. yOu're missing the point.

AutomobileFunk If I talk something, I need to prove if I be capable to do what I said. Otherwise, I could say that I play better than Slash. Or even David Gilmour. I don't need to prove, right? It's not about my ego. You don't need to do anything, but until there, I won't believe just in your words. I assume that she and many others musicians on KZitem plays much better than me. I'm humble. And enough to waste my precious time with your ego, that is larger than you. Say what you want. Simply I won't believe until I see if it is true.
@felixleonardo

AutomobileFunk First of all, I already said that I will not argue with you anymore, because it does not compensate. But after this offense with no reason other than the fact that you are hide behind a keyboard, I have one more thing to say: I will not lower myself to your level, if you have one, and offend you. But I will say that, unfortunately, it is not possible to have a civil conversation with people who are arrogant and who think they are better than the others, for no apparent reason. And yet it comes to say that my ego is large. A little more civility when talking to people, okay? In any moment did I offend you. And I will not do it, because it is not worth the waste of words and because my mother gave me something that looks like it lacks: EDUCATION. It does not matter to me if you're better than all the guitarists in the world. I just said that Tina plays a lot better than a lot of people. If you do not think so, I respect. Finishing, I say the following, just to show your point of view: I never give a single shot in my life. If I tell you that I hit with a 9mm, a fly that be 100 yards away, will you just believe me? This is the point. But the innocence and lack of education (offending me gratuitously) are yours. And, say what you want to say, I'm done. I just talk to educated people. Peace and Hugs!

She was only 15 years old when she played and you still call her a little girl. I definitely think it's very arrogant of you to say that you're better than her and if leonard writes original music, he's better than her. Just because you don't write your own songs doesn't mean you're bad at music. Sure, she may have played other people's songs, but she practiced a lot on the difficult songs because they represent a challenge for her to face and encourage her to practice hard and work hard. Hard work is more important than talent. She really will compose original and great music. Just give her some time. Stop being spiteful, egotistical, and demanding and give this excellent young lady some time and respect.

+AutomobileFunk I'd certainly like to see your version of this. Before you say "I DON'T NEED TO PROVE ANYTHING" yes, you do. You've made a claim "NOT THAN ME". I could make the same claim, saying I could play circles around you on an untuned guitar with a cracked neck missing two strings. Time to back it up. Otherwise people might think you are nothing but an internet troll.

Excuse me. Not the same. I respect this player A LOT, but... this interpretation is lightyears below Gilmour's, both in terms of feeling and precision.
@mentalage5

She is NOT Gilmour - she is Tina S - therefore she plays her own style - I thought this was excellent. and both you two who commented above are being PICKY.
@DickLujuria
7 жыл бұрын
I don't want to be picky, and further more, I say it again... I respect that guitarist A LOT. But... maybe it's just that not every sound is for every guitarist. Here, as a guitarist myselfI think she tries to play a very slow solo where every note and every sound is very important.... and she gets constant guitar noise, exagerated vibratos, and not too precise attacks. That's why I don't think this specific solo suits her, and to me it sounds more like fighting the guitar, rather than Gilmour's love-making to his guitar. That's all, every1 is free to love that solo, not love it... but never hate it! PS: And I edit it.... this woman has a GREAT bending technique... but it's a fact, as true as the Earth is not flat, that no person ever in this planet, will ever have Gilmour's bending technique. That's fu ck ed up.... but it's the hard truth for all of us! PS 2: I edit again... Tina S plays WAAAAAAAY betther than me, in every level. Just to make it clear, just in case someone would think I say this just to put her down... I don't. She's in a very high level, and she's young enough to exploit it in ways that I hope I will know :)

TheArcTangente If you can't tell that she has extraordinary talent, regardless of how she learned this solo (or any of her other songs), you are clueless. If a fighter pilot showed you how to fly a jet, could you fly it solo?
