Listened to pink floyd ever since I was a kid because I loved the harmonies and vocals. 25 now and the lyrics hit like a freight train. I refuse to even skip the slow parts bc they've become some my favorite elements of this band. GOATs no question

As an "older" Brit I grew up listening to Floyd. Please see the comment by Jesse James. PF is a rabbit hole, and you really have two choices, you can take the Blue Pill listen to other bands and carry on as you are, OR you can take the Red Pill, listen to DSotM from the start, and get a glimpse of how deep the rabbit hole goes. It can add an entirely new dimension to your appreciation of music. So if you take the challenge, buckle up your seat Dorethy, Kansas is about to go bye bye!!! 😂

You will see Pink Floyd puts you in the mood they want you in.. And if anyone gives you crap fir pausing they can shut it. We floyd fans can play every song backwards in our sleep. Its great that your listening to the band we all love. So take your time and enjoy the journey . As you get older this song will become more relevant when you realize 10 years have got behind you. And as for the backup singers.. They are angles sent down to play

Transfusion of the Mind. I choke up every time I listen to "On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd. Hey, I saw your eyes closing every now and then; you almost started to float away. I'll never forget the Pink Floyd concert I went to in the mid-seventies. Three hours of light effects and quadraphonic sound. Such an indelible experience. Keep on going, girl. So many albums; so little time.

Alan Parsons did a song called "Time" also if you haven't heard it you should. It is classic guaranteed. My brother that passed a couple years ago around this time of year all of a sudden got me hooked on this group and Alan Parsons along with many others. The 1970's was a great time to be a teenager.

Honey, I must say. I am 61yrs old. The 70s was the best of times for music. Blues, Rock and Roll. Not to mess with your head, but play all of "Dark side of the moon" and watch "Wizard of the Oz." at the same time. They both play together, at the right time. For real. You will dig it. Just time it right. Ok. Later baby... Rob...

Some people hear this song as being about not wasting time. Others hear it as saying that every second (wasted or otherwise) are all equally a second of your life that will never come again. For me personally, the take away is that it's important to figure out for ourselves what we consider a waste of time. What others/society tell us is a useful expenditure of time, might be the biggest waste of all.

Loved your reaction. Music is something that will always have the ability to bring us together. Expand your musical horizons, you will be very surpirised at what you find. I love Rap, R&B, Pop, Techno, Rock, Metal, Alternative, and Country. I was born in the 70's, was a kid in the 80's, and a teen in the 90's, so I got a hell of a lot of exposure to many genres. Hell, I got to see rap, metal, and alternatve be born and grow. I was very fortunate in that aspect! Expand your musical horizons, you will be glad you did!

I can tell by the look on your face that no one warned you.. Pink Floyd will tear your soul out of your body and show it to you. Roger was tormented with guilt over what happened to Syd, PF's first singer who had a break down shortly after the first album. It caused him to become driven by inspiration (Which was one of the underlying issues that caused Roger to leave and David to take over.. Inspiration will make you insane and will cause you to make everyone around you crazy.). "Dark Side of the Moon" is the ultimate expression of that and is truly Roger's "Magnum Opus". From start to finish the album is all about the things that make us insane, with the last song "Eclipse" being a literal list of them "All that you love, all that you hate.. etc etc".

If music doesn’t move you one way or the other, it’s really not very good. Time is a masterpiece. The opening is like birth. Sudden and jarring. It’s ironic that they didn’t concern themselves with how much time the intro took as long as it completed the theme. Same with the guitar solo. I’ve listened to this song literally a thousand times and it still does to me exactly what it did to you exactly when it did it to you. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.
