But I got to see each of their solo tours several times each & Pink Floyd post Roger Waters for the MLOR and TDB Tour (front row seats at Giant Stadium) and most recently Roger Waters The Wall and This is Not A Drill Tour. They were equally amazing. Ran into Roger Waters near my home town and gave him directions and shook hands. True story.

I was born in the 90s, but was lucky enough to discover a cassette with Pink Floyd on it at age 8, and they were indeed the reason why I decided to be a musician at the same age. Seeing them on the TV in 2005 was one of the clearest memories I have of my teen years, I was in a bar and when they announced "... and now ladies and gentlemen...Pink Floyd" everyone stoped speaking istantly, you could see the emotion of people in the air. It's in that moment I realised that music never gets old, expecially when after almost 25 years of listening to them each single time I get new feelings and inspiration from their songs. Thanks Roger, Syd, David, Rick and Nick for having influenced so deeply my life and many other people who tirelessly still listen and enjoy your music.

Your probably showing your age or location. As Pete Townshend says, they were something to see. Bowie, Yes, Gabriel, all those british giants talked at one time or another at going to see SYD. At that point Roger and Nick could hardly play, there was the light show but as anybody talks about, it was Syd they went to see. And watch documentaries at how all these guys who later couldn't stand one another but all have a reverence and open wound for....a guy. Do you EVER remember meeting another BOY at school that you gave a halfway shit about? They were pals, friends, fun, but the way these people talk about Syd then its clear that there was something magical about Syd. And of course they became something different without him, and its amazing they even stayed together. The guys in Genesis talk about how they almost packed it in simply because the guitarist who was only a QUARTER of the writing team left. Thats the magical thing about Pink Floyd, its like Monty Python. Its amazing it existed, its amazing it went on the way it did, its amazing that they are even remembered. After Roger left they only did two albums. And Roger only really did three and was done by 1992. Everything about Floyd is just crazy, which is what makes them Floyd. As Ezrin said, we really don't know 'which ones Pink' because they were just an aggregate. Like The Band they were all independant musicians who somehow managed to not just put out music, but great music. Thats astonishing in a way, particularly from middle class brits, who as we've seen with other bands, usually just defer to the guy in charge.

PROPS: I’m a Stones girl buttt, Led Zeppelin (Plant & Page) plus Floyd (David & Roger) have always made me weak in the knees in a far different way than Jagger & Keith ever could!! I remember very vividly buying Darkside, Wish & the Wall the second each album came out and being totally blown away. To me, Floyd was the go to music when you wanted to chill and sink into being a stoner, Zeppelin was the must have when you wanted to go hard all night with your dude and the Stones were my fav to get happy and dance. Van Halen was my driving music (later replaced with U2) and Arrowsmith, Eagles or a little Guns & Roses were our everyday jam for just hanging out while having a little background noise. I still play all of these to this day and love them just as much as I did when I was in my teens & early 20s….all of it is the soundtrack of my life BB (before babies)!!!! Through my 30s & 40s I put away my rocker chick side in order to raise my family (like a lot of us did) but in my 50s & 60s, I’m back and digging through my over 400 original albums and pulling out all my old stuff and listening to it at full blast while I’m cleaning house or grilling steaks and loving every second of it just the way we used to - it all still sounds great!!

He’s not even in the top 20 man. C’mon Buddy Rich is the GOAT Then you got Bonham, Peart, Moon, Bill Ward... Nick is levels below. And I like him. But greatest ever NO.

@@ezsmith3765nick was the main time keeper of the band. He sat back and let the others do their thing while he set the background. As a drummer myself, I have him in my top 10 along with those you mentioned. He’s nothing flashy but great nonetheless
