I wouldnt expect such a poor mechanical connection to hold a housefly never mind a cable, a horrendous design. Why the hell didnt they screw it down from underneath the PCB? this is piss poor for pioneer. Yes i too use CHEMWICK 5mm and 2mm its magic, the only brand i buy for braid.

Great repair. I've got 4x CDJ-2000 NXS2's and I've never had a problem with them. I'm not sure if they have the same design for the socket, I hope not cause it's shocking.

Great job. It ridiculous but maybe not surprising that Pioneer didn't fix the socket mechanically given that it's going to be plugged and unplugged every day. Aa you say it has spring clips ready to use! Or perhaps a few cents for a blob of super glue or epoxy at assembly stage.

Fantastic repair! Shame on Pioneer for the mechanical design oversight.

Thanks. Needed some real-world testing before release.. They should have lent one to my customers!!

Well done. There is an "activator" one can spray on the CA glues once in place to make them set super fast. Quite handy

I have some of that stuff, I think it is sodium Bicarbonate based. The adhesive is Cyanoacrylate based but it has additional properties that make a more effective bond. . The 3M rep recommended it for sticking flexible plastics and rubber together. I have even stuck Audi plastic bumper clips back on with it. You know the sort of thing that you hold your breath whilst engaging the clips because you just know they will snap off as soon as you try to engage. When you get into adhesives the science is really quite interesting.

Would it be possible to hand drill and tap for a small screw to go through the board into the plastic bumps?

Possible with a short screw. Good idea.

Well done, a spot on repair :-D You are right with the crappy way the socket was mounted. Designers want a dam good slap for stupidity. Tiny usb sockets are a pain when people use too much force. I did one in a mates Go Pro (Wished i didn't). I don't have a microscope so it was harder than i thought to solder the tiny pins. An old Antex tip was filed down to a tiny point (the usb pins were dam hard to solder). Yup antex tips are eaten away from the inside, the mass is much less, very little stored heat.

Hi! Regarding to RJ45 socket, can be replaced with any RJ45 or need to be a specific model? Also, I have a setup with 2x CDJ-2000nexus and DJM-2000 nexus as mixer and whatever I do to use Pro Link with computer or between them, the playing deck is loosing connection. Do you know how this problem can be sorted? I tried even to use a external switch instead of integrated switch from mixed and have same issue, both CDJ's and mixer have the latest firmware update.

May be a USB driver issue. Which operating system are you using?

@@razenby as far as I know Pro Link is working thru LAN cable and not usb. So, when is between CDJ's there is no computer involved, just using a usb stick in one unit with link. When I am using laptop, I have windows 10. Anyway, connection is lost after few songs.
