I need to replace the tonearm lock down on this exact unit. Do I take that panel off where the tonearm is located or do I get to it from underneath? Appreciate your help. Thank you.

Great video. My PL540 is having issues maintaining speeds at the moment. Did you make a list of the caps that you used and replaced?

It looks like this guy doesn't respond to questions, which is fine, I guess. However, your question seems to be the same issue that I am having on mine. I have a beautifully restored PL-540, but the quartz lock is not functioning on the 33rpm setting. Ironically, it locks and works just as it should on 45rpm, but not on 33. I just harvested a motor from an old one that was working great and I am going to swap the motors in the hopes that it's a motor issue. However, since you seemed to have the same issue, I am wondering what you did to resolve your issue; if you resolved it at all.

@@RumbleFish69 I ended up replacing every capacitor in the turntable. It works like a dream now and should last for a long time.

Do you have a part number for those rubber feet? I'm refurb'ing one myself, and the feet are trashed. Also, did you have to work on the cueing mechanism? Thanks in advance.

Hi I also have a PL540 with a fault. The fault traced to 22v from the power supply board at 5v. If the 22v is disconnected from the motor board the power returns to 22v. As I don't have any test equipment, us the fault with the power supply or motor board?

Hi. Why did you change the capacitors on the power supply board?

Hi, I´m going to buy one PL-540, the QuartzPll lights on but the platter doesn't turn. Do you think that in the worst case it can be fixed?

Can you change the caps without removing the motor? What type of capacitors did you use?

Thanks for watching! There were a couple caps that would have been really difficult to access with the motor in place as the pcb runs underneath it. I use mostly Nichicon gold and Muse caps. Panasonic, Ruby and Chemicon also make premium components.
