The Friends of the Wanamaker Organ presents an entertaining two-part educational film from Charles M. Bower on recovering Fleming pneumatics in Murray M. Harris electro-pneumatic pipe organs.
Please note that white glue or epoxy should NEVER be used with leather organ actions as the leather can't be removed for replacement without gouging the wood. This film shows how to remove rubbercloth. Leather is removed in a similar way by soaking and stripping the degraded material.
Fleming actions were designed by master organbuilder William Boone Fleming and are used on the high-quality ventil chests he designed and patented. For more information see our website at wanamakerorgan.com
