Am at ATP in Portland, OR. Passed my Multi addon mid May, my instrument multi July 1st and my Commercial Multi check ride is in 3 days. Had a great time on my crew cross country flights a couple of weeks ago. 35 flight hours in 5 flying days and 2 rest days in California, Arizona, and Nevada. It's a great program but be prepared for a lot of quick paced training!

What are the odds that I search “Piper Seminole,” and run across this video with THIS TAIL NUMBER! I’ve flown this exact plane before. That’s hilarious to see it on KZitem.

ATP instructors and pilots are the best of the best. You will not find better pilots than their graduates.

Mike Mchale He's most likely a private pilot and maybe with an instrument rating. ATP doesn't start students out in a twin.

I disagree. I went there and had a great time. You get out of it what you put into it. Why didn't you like your time at ATP?

ATP just doesn't hold your hand. It's not the place for someone that has to be babysat.

I loved it. I went to the location in Houston and then the location out in Las Vegas. Loved every second of my time with those guys. If there was a question I had they knew how to answer it and if the instructor didn't know it, he found someone who did.

MachCrit Had the worst experience at Atp. Gave it my all by the way. Was at Atp for more than 7 hours a day and even studied at Starbucks after. My issue wasn’t the knowledge part but how they treated the students. They didn’t care about me and all they wanted to do was move you along the program as quick as they can so they can put more people in. The quality of my training was bad and the instructors just wanted hours. They will make you take checkrides even when you’re not ready to “possibly” pass. Never was treated like a customer.

PilotCrissy, yes. The thing with ATP is that you have to be an adult and manage those things on your own. You paid your money so demand what you need. If you see an instructor that doesn’t care, fire him and get one that does. One thing is for certain, if you are determined to be successful, you will be.
