Sometimes the upholsterers have to deal with square corners while performing a cushion or other project. Some 'relief cuts' should be used 'to help' ease the procedure. We could find in the video two different square corners to deal with. One is outwards and the other is inwards.
It is advisable to prepare beforehand the piping/welting to have it ready with its required seam allowance.
One of the secrets to get nice corners is to always attach the piping strip to lateral surrounding piece (there are few exceptions, though). The main panel should always remain flat and lateral panel should be handled over.
Longer stitches to sew 'piping strip' to 'lateral panel'. Shorter stitches are advisable to do last sewing to main panel.
The 'final sewing' should be done close to the other to get a very 'tight piping' to avoid clashing thread views.
I have used metric system of 1 cm for seam allowance. I could also have used our traditional 1/2" of an inch selvage.
I hope you find it useful!
