No promotion here..I've ridden on so many tires and not any have allowed me to drag pegs do power wheelies and hit top speeds of 180- 210 except the pirelli angel gt A-Specs and get good mileage. The street track tires didn't last long and I had to heat them up before the grip got good. In the winter not good at all. The pirelli heat up quickly. I've been in temps down to -13° F and after 3 minutes I rode like it was 70°. I've been in the pouring rain at 110 on my 09 Kawasaki concours 1400 and 160 on my zx14r. So you have a reference point. I'm like I moto gp rider but on the streets. So after pushing every tire I ever put on my bikes. These hold up the best for me the others had issues. Some with excellent grip didn't last and were useless in the winter before 40°. Others didn't do anything but skip in the rain. Others had great reason traction but in the dry would step out on corner exit under heavy or aggressive throttle input. The pirelli allow me to do wheelies coming off the apex if I twist the throttle hard enough.

This is not a review, but a preview. I have these guys on my 2013 CB500x and put over 2000 miles on it. They still look great and they are extremely confidence inspiring. I like the groove in the middle, helps with rain, which is great as I live in the PNW. No problems leaning the bike over, it just feels rock solid.

I have been riding with Angel ST and GTs since they came out. I have never had them surrender grip on the road, even when riding hard. I’ve also taken these to the track on my Aprilia and wore them to the edge in the “fast group” on a non-sport bike track day and they were fantastic.Under very hard braking and acceleration, they were great! I’ve also taken these on dirt roads and gravel with never a problem (I’d never take them into mud.)

172 comments and not one review GETS TO THE POINT!! I bought these tires and had them mounted for my ZX-10RR at 36,398 miles. Currently at 38,583. That is 2,185 miles use, thus far. The crown is gently squared off. I will not speculate how much more mileage I think I will get. I will EDIT this comment when they are worn and replaced. For all others commenting, please, get to the point and state the mileage you actually got out of these specific tires. Saying "two seasons" or "I didn't note the mileage when mounted" is about the dumbest review possible.

I have been an Angel GT fan and used them on 2 different motorcycles. I just replace a set of Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires on my Ducati 1260 S Multistrada with Angel GT II. I was looking forward to these new tires. I got on a grooved interstate highway and my Ducati started to wobble which is totally uncharacteristic for this motorcycle. I figured it was just because they were new. I later got into some wind and the motorcycle also began to wobble. Until I switched tires the MS never ever experienced any slight wobble. 400 mi later I encountered grooved pavement again and the wobble returned. These tires should be discontinued. I have considered Michelin Road 5, but the Scorpions handled so well in the curves, on gravel and in the rain. I understand the Road 5 will not have the stability on gravel roads. I infrequently ride gravel roads, but when I do I want stability. I got 7000 mi out the the Scorpion Trail II rear tire and have never achieved that much mileage on a tire in my lifetime. The Scorpion Trail II gave me so much confidence with maximum lean angles. The Angell GT II only gave me 425 mi of life because they will be replaced on Saturday with Scorpion Trail II.

The I let myself get talked into Bridgeton Battle Axe tires and shredded them down to the chords in a season and a half (I live in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia Canada) a season here is about six months. michelin's are great, if you do more wet riding i would still go for those, i dont know how it is now with the 5's but the 3 and 4 were more prone to cupping, but they gave me so much confidence in wet conditions it was really nice riding with them, even a bit more then the angel gt. personal pick for me would still be the angel's.

I've read many reviews where the rider claims that on roads with rain grooves these tires are a nightmare, causing the bike to wobble. This is caused no doubt by the double center grooves on the front tire. The original GTs do not have these center grooves. It's been my experience that any tire with a center groove CV wobbles on highwatscwithcrain grooves. Pirelli goofed changing these.

Great grip but 5 figures is a stretch. A big stretch.. I have swapped from Dunlap Q4 to the P.A GT 2 due to the mileage I ride. Dulop lucky to get 1800, angle gt 2 I'm at about 7k miles and I'm in a bad need for a new rear tire. And no I do not do burnouts, but I do ride slightly aggressive at times. But 7k compared to 1700.. The Dunlop had the best grip I've ever had ( never rode on perelli diablo super corsa 3 though ) but the Angle gt 2 are EXTREMELY grippy on the switch backs. So with the mileage and grip I'm sold. Buying another 2 sets for both my litter bikes.. But you didn't mention the 3 different types they have, I no 1 is made specifically for a bike. I'm thinking one of the Ducati bikes but don't remember which one it was. Anyway buy the angle gt 2 and you will love it.

Ran with these on my Moto Guzzi V100S OEM fitment. At 12,000 plus miles and to the wear bars on the front and JUST above them on the rear. No issues anywhere with grooved pavement. It may have something to do with width of the grooves. All I know is no problems in Ohio and Indiana roads. These are hard to find now, so I will use a set of DUNLOP Road Smart III's as I don't ride above their pay grade, and cheaper than the IV's.

Why do these reviews always avoid specifics for mileage when tires for cars always state expected mileage under normal use? I understand longevity will vary from rider to rider. All tires feel great when new (as long as you have the right size for your bike and you give the tire what it wants as far as pressures go). 1/2 of why they feel so much better is usually you are replacing a profile that is altered, a carcass that is starting to break down. If you go long enough on those dual compound tires, sometimes you wear through the other compound and the wear pattern starts to accelerate or sometimes is slows down. Someone give us a 5000 mile report.

I've run Pirelli ST and GT tires for many years almost exclusively. Rain or sun the tires have always inspired confidence. I've taken Angel GT's to the track on my Aprilia and they performed fantastically! Pushed hard on the street they are great. You must keep these (as with any tire) well inflated as the front will scallop quickly if you ride with lower pressure. And once you hit the wear bar on the rear tire you only have 100+ miles before you will be showing the wires.

You're really on the cusp and could go either way. When running an A spec on a light bike, you just get a less-compliant ride. If running the 'normal' on a heavy bike, you lose tire life. i seriously loved the GT (1) however i also used the metzeler roadtec 01 and i hope these GT II dont follow those (same factory etc i was lead to believe). The 01 came best out of tests but for me halfway its life it went from great to dramatically bad. Currently im on T31's that replaced the 01's. If the GT II is not the roadtec01 im keen on trying them, when the T31's are worn.

That's totally up to you. The biggest difference is tire profile. The Michelins are relatively U-shaped for more linear turn-in feel, while the Pirellis are a bit more V-shaped for quicker turn-in (though less V-shaped as the original Angel GTs). -DrewZilla *bit.ly/PirelliAngelGT2 *bit.ly/Mich_Road5

What tire doesn’t wobble at 80mph on grooved pavement??

I went with an angel gt front and gt 2 rear both A-Specs. I ride a Kawasaki concours 1400. And that combination is a winner. The gt2 front didn't do much vibration but the groove did try to follow the rain grooves on the cement highways which caused course correction while riding straight. In the corners there were zero issues. For that reason i won't use a front tire with grooves in it. I changed my set up and have the best of both worlds. Also my front and rear last about the same amount of time. Before with the angel gt's the rear was gone at 12,000. Miles. But i do a lot of wheelies and ride them hard in the twisties. 42 psi is crucial to getting longevity from these tires. I get about 14,000-15,000 miles from both. Front angel and rear angel gt 2. Also if you're getting a wobble or any wobble check your head bearings for tightness and for proper operation. That is usually a sign of worn, loose, or bad head bearings. Usually shows up more pronounced with new tires because the old tires wear with the issue.

Update***the turn in isn't as good on the angel gt2 as the original angel both A-Specs. I am going to go back to the angel gt A-Specs front and rear. I use them on my 17 zx14r and they hold the road in rain dry and all conditions. I'm not gentle on my tires by any stretch. I ride super aggressively on every surface and in every temperature and they ALWAYS hold and turn in is great until the issue drops 3#'s or more then it has to be pushed over.

@@joshsims9267 I was always a Michelin guy. After having Pirelli on my new car, I am going to give them a shot on the GA soon enough. They are both good, no doubt. I am just looking to extend the life of them cause the GA eats tires pretty heavy.

The Angel GT 2s are for sport and sport-touring bikes that have 17 inch wheels or ADV bikes with 19 inch front and 17 inch rear. The Scout has 16 inch wheels, which are common for cruisers but not for sport-touring motorcycles. For high grip, you'd go with the Pirelli Night Dragons. For high grip and 20% more life, look at the new Night Dragon GT for the rear. For longer tire life, consider the Michelin Commander IIs. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/pirelli-night-dragon-tires *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/pirelli-night-dragon-gt-rear-tires *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/michelin-commander-ii-tires

These or Bridgestone S22?
@RevZilla
5 жыл бұрын
Two totally different tires. If you need the most grip and don't care so much about tire life, then go with the S22. If you aren't pushing your bike to its absolute limits (most aren't), then you'd be better off with the Angel GT 2, since the grip is still very good and the tire life even better. -DrewZilla

Like asking wich has more grip, sand paper or duct tape, theses 2 tyres are not comparable to each other. However, saying that. I Replaced my S21's with GT's, never looked back. Always on the edge of the tyre and done a couple medium track days no sweat. Fantastic in the rain. I had no confidence on the S21's, polar opposite with the GT's. Scares me sometimes how hard I push them and they don't budge. I'm on my 2nd set of GT's (gen 1). I know the new versions of both will be different and this comparison prob doesnt help, but I'm sticking with the GT's.

LEMMY: Reviewers should stop mentioning load when speaking of the A-spec version; people get confused. Load ratings are *exactly* the same as the non A-spec and either tire can be used safely on heavy bikes. The difference is beefier construction in the tread to better manage the slip-area in the contact patch... leading to longer life and better handling.
@peopler2stupid165
4 жыл бұрын
That is NOT true.. The A spec has stiffer sidewalls and some sizes are in the next weight range or the tire in the A spec is 15-17 pounds more capacity.. Not much difference, but the info I looked at showed differences.
@rower30-mt3tb

Correct, A spec sidewalls are usually 2 ply and stiffer to reduce flex and heat failure. Some add belts under the tread to also reduce flex. Heavy bikes will seriously damage lighter bike tires from carcas flex. Not good at all.

I have used the Rosso 2 and now the Rosso 3 extensively..great grip, both on the track and in the mountains...I usually get about 5,000 miles out of a set...good in the wet also...the 3 offer a bit better feel, better grip, and a slightly changed year profile for turn in...I would get the 3 over the 2s

Even though Metzeler is a subsidiary of Pirelli and both tires provide similarly good grip and longevity, the Pirellis have a steeper profile, so they tip into turns a bit faster than the more "linear" Metzelers. One could think of the Pirellis as being slightly "sportier" with the quicker initial turn-in. -DrewZilla *bit.ly/2Rc3Mae
