After buying my first Piscifun reel (Torrent, a casting reel), I bought 4 more of them. Since then, I've purchased 3 more Spinning and 2 more Casting reels. They ALL work great. I use 8-strand Braid a ALL my reels (20# to 65#), and have Never had any problems with them. I DO tear them down during the winter months and clean/lubricate them, every year (going on 6 years using Piscifun Reels). Yes, I Have Used more expensive reels (a couple of $250 to $300 dollars), but find I win tournaments and competitions with Piscifun products just fine! (As a matter of fact, I sold one of them to buy the 4 Torrent Reels!).

I own several Viper X and a few Carbon X reels of varying sizes. I've found that the Carbon X reels have some issues with the handles...the Carbon X handles get "stuck" and lose their smoothness after casting/retrieving a few dozen times. The Viper X reels, IMO, seem to hold up a lot better, over time and usage, as far as smooth retrieval. The Carbon X reels need to be lubed regularly to correct this problem. Considering the Viper X runs $20 less, I'd have to recommend them over the Carbon X reels simply because they seem to hold their smooth retrievals longer. Drag systems are great on both reels.

Sorry to hear that. I missed that feature when I was discussing the reel since I only had the 3000 series.
