This is a great tool! I'm finding that it works really well even in the low-contrast, high noise system I'm investigating. Thanks so much!

Great tool. Amazing job. Question : Is it possible to filter particle based on their sizes ? (for example discriminate between seeded particles and larger sediment particles) ?
@Willa1980
2 жыл бұрын
Hi, this is not possible directly in PIVlab. You need to process the images manually before importing. Maybe it would be an idea to use fluorescent seeding particles and a band pass filter?

I am currently setting up a PIV system using PIVlab! We are wanting to use a continuous laser. What wattage would you recommend for 6in x 6 in viewing area? Our medium is water and we are using hollow glass spheres Thank you!

Thank you for this wonderful tool ;) How does masking work? Are all the interrogation windows computed and the mask is overlaid to stop unwanted objects from being post processed? I couldn't quite understand when I was looking at the code. Thanks, Erich Zimmer

Hi, if I remember correctly, then: If more than 50% of the interrogation area is masked, then this area is excluded from correlation. The best site for asking questions is the Pivlab forum.

Hi William. Thank you for this. It’s incredibly useful. Is there a way to get an average vector plot for all frames imported? I’ve got 300 images pivlab is processing for my dissertation
@Willa1980

Yes in "derive parameters", there is a button to calculate he average

Hi these a useful tool amazing... but problem i cant not install it. As extract the file the PIVlab.mlappintsall is not exe. file it wont run in my system. Any suggestion?
Is there anyway that you can set a color HUE to zero? My background for my videos is not black. I have particles flowing over a moving animal, and right now the moving animal is adding noise to the data. Thank you for your time.

I don't know octave, but it is unlikely to be compatible (because of the GUI, which is most likely highly integrated in Matlab)
