Great work Mitch! This was so helpful and made PixInsight so much less intimidating. This tool rocks! I can’t even believe the improvement I’m already seeing in images I processed using other tools.

This series has been fantastic, I now feel somewhat confident in using some quite advanced software. Off to re-process a few years worth of old data! Cheers Mitch!

Thank you for your work in this . I actually enjoyed processing my image. Excellent rate of presentation and discussion; I didn’t have to backup the video a dozen times just to get one point.

Thanks for these tutorials. They really helped me get the hang of PI. Following along with an image of the Dumbbell I was pretty happy with before really opened my eyes. I'm blown away by what more can be tweaked out over previous things I did in other tools. Thanks again for these, I'll be referring back often until I get some muscle memory!

Thank you! I really appreciate your effort to explain everything for beginners. I have made pretty decent pics with PS, but comparing other's pics made by Pixinsight I realised I had to change. But after PS logic Pixinsight approach was so difficult and I can tell you I watched hours of tutorials but without yours I'm sure I'd have given up. So again THANK YOU!!!!

Aloha Astro Dude, Thanks for putting all these excellent vids together!! Last summer I put about 400 hrs into Photoshop CS6, and have been using it (along with Deep Sky Stacker) to process my narrowband. I'm getting ready to download PixInsight's 45 day free trial and will probably purchase it in the very near future. I'm hoping PixInsight will help speed-up some of the initial post processing steps and these videos have DEFINITELY helped me understand the PixInsight workflow, thanks again!! JohnAstroFun

This series has been helpful, thanks. You should create a playlist of them in order.
So I've just finished up this tutorial series with my first every image ( got my scope a month ago) and I just want to thank you. You made pixinsight super easy to learn and even with my very crappy data my end result was way better than I could have ever imagined. I can't wait for some nicer weather and more time imaging to get some decently usable subs. Two things: I know you are moving into intermediate videos and I just want to say that I support this 100%, I'm sure there are plenty like me who might be beginners at imaging but have some experience or computer literacy when it comes to processing. Plus pixinsight makes everything super easy anyway. Second, have you considered doing tutorials on other programs for those who don't have access to expensive dedicated software like pix or astro pixel processor? Photoshop is an obvious pick but I'm wondering if you have heard of rawtherapee, it is a free raw processor that imho is far superior to photoshop in terms of colour calibration/noise suppression/curves adjustments. A guide on how to align/stack and process images in the cheaper/free software would be great, I found your teaching style to be better than others I have watched!

Do you have a printed workflow I can download somewhere? I think it would save a lot of time in working through the process without having to go through the videos completely each time I process. BTW, videos are great, processed my first photo and it turned out well.

Astro Dude, Thanks for your demos! This removes much of the trial and error of the learning process. I have gotten to satisfactory final images but am unable to save as tiff or jpeg. I get a warning that this format may lose some processing, and then the image reverts to some earlier form. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
@BrokenPik
6 жыл бұрын
the warning is only to let you know that there will be some depreciation of the image, ( jpg, TIF) as compared to a FIT or XISF just continue to save it in any events.. let me know.

I acknowledge warning, but saved tiff or jpeg looks nothing like final desired image. Something in the 32 bit free floating info?
@BrokenPik

John do not save those extension in 32 bit, go to 16 bit and that should solve it.
