**shakes fist** SSSSOOOOOOORRRRRRAAAAANNNN! I'll not soon forget his act of treacherous kindness! LOL, thanks for the shout out to the Rantathon. It's our third annual go of it and we're putting even more into it this year than previous years. As you said over $8000 in swag to giveaway. We even have some non-warhams prizes like board games and RPG books. A little something for everyone even though the main focus remains on WarHams. (Only addendum is it's every two hours we rotate guests and prizes. A one hour rotation could get overwhelming over 30 straight hours 😂) Thanks again for the shout out. I gotta go find a certain member of my community and give them an earful... Of gratitude.

In Kings of War we do a lot of diorama work. Since we can multibase our models, most people end up turning the unit into a mini diorama for aesthetic or functional purposes. A lot of tournament goers will bring a display board to show off their models on too. It helps with transportation and can help you with your paint scores at some tournaments.

One tip regarding the 'floating foot'. This can come in handy whenever you build diorama with dozens to hundreds of soldiers: Always build the landscape out of a semi soft material (styrofoam) and always use PVA glue for gluing the earth/sand texture. When you want to glue the models to the diorama, spray it with water in order to loosen the PVA glue and you apply some force on the models to slightly bury its foot into the diorama (this is where styrofoam helps). Also, applying deep shadows (the ones underneath the model if you are doing basic zenithal, and not osl) with airbrush before gluing the models. Shadows are especially important in those dioramas where the base is a light color and if it's a tight packed formation unit diorama.

Some of my fondest memories as a kid were staying up til like 3 am with my mom to watch Cowboys of Moo Mesa. She loved that show just as much as I did purely because it had cows and she loves cows, cow stuff everywhere in her house lol. Im glad others remember the show, thanks for reminding me of that Jon (my dads name also, though different spelling).

Consider my soul utterly crushed! Here I was clicking on this video because I was planning 'my-first-diorama' and Jon says what he had to say about putting your dudes on individual bases in that diorama. Exactly what i was planning to do😢. And I'm still gonna do it anyway...😅 Living in the Netherlands, I did get to go to that World Model Expo though. It was pretty awesome, and lots of money has been irresponsably spent.🤣 It was mostly amazing to meet the people who sculpt those awesome models and knowing your irresponsibly spent money actually goes to the artist. Not to some nasty CEO who keeps raising prices for no reason and kicks Scott out of his building for taking a wrong picture🤣. Anyway, thanks for all the great pointers in this video! Have a Like&Subscribe.

Pro tip for pinning, drill both holes in the feet, used a compass drawing tool place the points in the holes and make the marks on the base then you can drill the perfect holes.

I 100% zenithal prime and then cover it with opaque paints. Zenithal priming is to get a best-of-both-worlds black primer in the shadows so that if I miss a small crevice it's not bright white, and grey/white primer for easy coverage. Even then, my primary goal with Zenithal is to make it easier to recognize what the details are meant to represent. A flat primer can be hard to distinguish small details. Since I'm airbrushing the primer going back to zenithal with white takes almost no time.

Before I got into wargaming I was into saltwater reef aquariums. To my my tanks interesting I followed landscape design rules. I feel these rules would be useful in dioramas. Things like the use of negative space and drawing the eye into the scene.

If you're making dioramas it might be a good idea to check out other modeling fields like the stuff Night Shift does in 1/35 scale with his tanks. You might get some ideas/techniques you can try scaling down for your own stuff by looking at other disciplines.

Dragon fall is close and not too far off.................. Adepticon was well received, why not do a live session while painting and trashing each other. you can auction off the painted minis for charity- which is the point of Dragon fall if I remember correctly.

Hey guys, just want to correct a few things for the WME. This year there were around 4080 models. That's why there is a need for so many judges. Yes, the judges have an app, where they rate every model in their category and then they can have a discussion about some models. Basically, the score is an average. And WME is every 3/4 years and next is in 2025 in France!

The only thing I could find on the website was that it is 'triannual', which can mean either once every three years, or three times a year.. ‘Triannual’ can only mean once every three years, even if some people misuse it. If it were three tines a year - unlikely in itself I would have thought - it should be clearly stated as such to avoid confusion.

I'm 100% in on DMs crafting their own story or adapting the story for a campaign book to tell the story they want to tell. What I'm not ok with is "well we are in Forgotten Realms, so yah theres so much depth here and your character would know it all..." My DMing style is very narrative driven and crafting a story around the PCs. Which, i guess is ironic given my general lore aversion in Warhammer. Although I am a fantasy book nerd so I'm all for good story telling. :)
