Hi Jeff! What a fun vlog! I love it when you do various things around your gardens, and take us plant shopping. You found some really pretty plants. I love the ponytail palm! I've never seen one that big! I have several smaller ones and just love the look of them. It was so good seeing Toby. I'm so glad Toby did ok during and after his surgery. I hope he heals fast and gets to feeling better soon. Bless his heart. I'm looking forward to seeing how the shade garden turns out and where you plant the other plants you got. It was fun seeing Pumpkin, Poppy and Turbo, too. I hope the area where the pathway is turns out the way you want it to. Thank you so much for sharing!

I can't wait to see how the shade garden turns out. (I'm actually shocked that you still had room to add another entire section!) Most of the plants you chose are new to me, so I have no idea what to expect! I'm happy for you and Toby that the surgery is over. I think we always know what's best for our pets. They should have listened to you and not let that grow to 6 pounds! God bless you and the animals.

I started watching you in 2020 and never miss a video! At first I assumed you were in Florida until I saw the palms go away for winter! The palms became so fascinating to me because of how they over winter and come back every spring! I just gotta say…This summer you have out done yourself. Every angle of the yard is stunning from top to bottom. Watching your videos is like visiting with a friend. Love you and all the animals! Good vibes to Toby! 🐶🐶🐄🐈⬛🦜🐢🦎🦋🐠🐟🐞🦆🐿️🪴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌞💦💦💦

I love all of your plant choices Jeff. I purchased one of the Chitalpa tashkentensis Summer Bells last year but for some reason it hasn’t flowered yet this year. I am wondering if it’s because we have had such a cold and wet Spring and Summer this year in the UK. I suffer from those garden centre black outs too to the constant horror of my husband. 😂 I am so glad that Toby is doing well. He is a beautiful boy and he is so lucky to have you keeping him safe and fighting his corner. Sending love and blessings your way. Xxx

Thank you Samantha! He's doing really well, getting up and moving around and starting to kind of get his appetite back. The cold and wet could have something to do with it, I know chitalpa do well with the heat, but I dont know if it's needed. I'll do some reading on that one.

Hi Jeff 👋 Our sweet Tobes 🥰 6# is a huge Lipoma! He will feel so much better now. Bet Turbo was a wreck without his big brother ❤ WOW What a great plant haul! I love the leaves on that Ginger😍 is the Farfugium (?) Also the one they call a tractor seat plant? 🤔 Those 2 shrubs (tree size) are huge for $45-50 price. The grass has a nice pop of color. 😊 I have never seen a ponytail Palm that tall 😮. I've got to say once again how I love LOVE that green wall! I love the nice fresh mulch! You did a lot of heavy work there but it looks great! Hopefully Wednesday you'll be doing another unboxing 😁 You take great care and we will see you soon. 😊

Holy PonyTail palm-ness! This made me wanna drag mine over and say "Dream Big kiddo" I love these I keep mine in Bonsai mix from Home Depot and that pre- teen palm thrives. Although I have big Dinosaur toys staged in mine lol. Maybe black fabric under the lemon lanten the shells sorta get lost on the linen? Hope Toby's recovery goes quickly for him!

I'm surprised you didn't plant anything more "traditional" for that spot, like Astilbe which gives you pretty flowers in the late spring and comes with nice foliage, or Japanese Painted Fern.

The Fargesium, hope I spelled that correct I’ve come to know more commonly as tractor seat plant. I love it and I’ve had great success with it in the shade getting it 3’ tall. In Florida it hates the sun & can be a water hog but is worth the effort

I’m excited to see how this looks! I hope your furry pal feels better soon! I commented about this on another one of your videos but isn’t it too late to be planting stuff? I planted some sea grass a few weeks ago and it dried up and went into deep shock quickly. It is slowly bouncing back

Thank you! Sorry I missed that comment, it may be one of the ones youtube has been glitching on. I've been hearing from people that they're commenting and having to redo them bc the comments aren't posting. I don't know what that's about. I plant almost all year, as long as the ground isn't frozen and it's not over like 98F outside I'll put things in the ground. There are some plants that I avoid planting when it's hot though, like thujas and hibiscus or anything that's a thirst monster and also tend to have fine or delicate roots.

Can you add to your green wall so it doesn’t look like it starts out of nothing? Or a low long planter to cover where the siding and green wall meet ? Just a thought ? 🌺💚🙃 I also agree about the gold not looking quite right especially next to the yellow lemons ? 🌺💚🙃

When it comes to Calycanthus I'd stick to named varieties. 'Scentsation' is really nice for fragrance, 'Aphrodite' has interesting flowers but gets big.

a new garden bed, fun! Is there a reason you don't use cardboard to supress the grass? I agree with you, landscape fabric is awful for garden beds. So happy Toby is recovering well.

We had a sewage back up right before we left to visit our friends in Wisconsin a couple of years ago, WHAT A MESS. Right when we we ready to leave we noticed that the toilets weren’t flushing , guess what hubby and I did before we left. We uncapped the clean out and OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS, we had swamp water all over the basement floor I prefer to call it swamp water then what it really was what a horrible mess and do you think unclogging the clean out was easy oh heck no the clog was further down the pipe so we had to get a drain snake and even that didn’t want to go through the clog. We got it fixed but man were we tired. 🌺💚🙃

I have a Carolina sweet shrub , I planted it in the wrong spot and it didn’t like its home. I moved it last spring and it has taken off for me, it only produced one flower this year but I’m looking forward to next year and hopefully it’s covered in blooms. 🌺💚🙃 It was small when I bought it and because it didn’t like where I planted it it stayed small so it was easy to transplant. When I say small it was in a quart sized container from PW. It’s about three feet tall now that I’ve moved it but I THINK they can get up to ten feet tall ? 🌺💚🙃
@TropicalPlantParty

Sounds like it's thriving! Oh yeah, the sizes vary, but I think 10 ft is common.

Still trying to play catch-up on my to watch list. 178 videos…26 of those are 2+ hours long still…2x speed still absolutely required *sigh*. My remaining cat has often had the most aromatic #2s…not quite scenting up the house, but definitely noticeable in adjacent rooms. I go cover up her deposits to help lessen the smell. (Because why would a cat cover up their deposits? lol) But kitten poops and gas emissions are definitely a thing your nose wishes didn’t happen. We’ve had a few offers of strays to take in…but after 5 years of a semi medically complicated cat, I want one whose shots are done & it’s already fixed…I want my focus to be on introducing a new cat to my cat…not giving it medication, multiple vet trips for shots, fixing, checkups etc. Maybe I’m being too picky…but I want “easy” for a bit. I actually did planty things today. I fertilized the outside plants finally, and repotted 3 orchids. I still need to water everything…but we’re doing what we can when we can. There’s still a pile of weeding to do and weed trees need digging up…might just set a sprinkler where I need to dig up trees to soften the ground since rain is still basically nonexistent. Still have a few repotting jobs left, but I’m very relieved that chore list is finally getting nibbled away at. (I’ve been working on the weeds despite bug bites or allergic reactions to something…very tired of itchy feet & legs.)
