Thank you! Not bad for a 4' by 5' raised bed!! That's what I think, LOL!

I grew my own slips this year and my daughter planted and had a great harvest. Such an easy crop to grow. Your harvest was great. I have only grown a few times but will do so again.

Sounds great! I've done that in the past. This time I wanted to try to unique types. Yes, they really are easy to grow. Thanks for watching the video!

Thank you kindly!! That bed is a combination of 1/3 sphagnum peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite and 1/3 a combination of 4 different composts including cow and chicken manure compost, mushroom compost and some of my home developed compost. That is a bit of work but absolutely the greatest raised bed garden mix that you can have. That's called "Mel's Mix" after the Square Foot Gardening book that described it, written by Mel Bartholomew.

Hi, great video! Where do you cure them to get that 85-90% humidity and how do you store them during this part of the curing process?
@LouisianaSimpleLiving

I just put them in a box and set in the back of my food pantry.

Thank you for your video. I want to plant some Japanese sweet potatoes that are white skin and purple inside. They have less water content and it has the texture of regular potatoes. I can buy them from Asian grocers, but its impossible to get them to root to produce slips. I think they process them with something that prevents them from growing slips even when you put in glass of water water. Do you have a tips how to get that chemical off so I can grow my own? Im in Orange County California. Used to live off of Dalrymple by LSU though!

That's a great question. I can't say that I have any expertise in this but I can only imagine cleaning them well with water and maybe scrubbing a bit with a very, very soft brush. Has anybody else had any experience with this?

I don't clean them with water and just put them in a box and store on the floor in my pantry. They last months that way.

Nice! How long do you let those cure before cooking? I've always done 6-8 weeks with Beauregards, didn't know if those were any different

Amazing, thanks! That's optimal but I actually had some tonight after curing for a week. I actually recorded the harvest last weekend. They were delicious and sweet already. 1 week is cutting it short but was great!
