Sooo looks like I made an ooops and “Planty” isn’t just a regular heartleaf philodendron but a Heart-Leaf Philodendron ‘Brasil’ or Philodendron Brasil, but with the same scientific name of Philodendron hederaceum (I guess that’s why I got confused)? Thanks for looking out for this plant child that still has a lot to learn! 🙈🌿

I know I'm late, haha. But propagating plants (specifically succulents aka echeverias for me) is actually a lot easier than I expected, at least for my succulents. It's pretty easy to just sort of leave the little baby 'petals' and water them regularly. Have fun and try things out!
@rizo1996
4 жыл бұрын
Hopefully this gets to you!!! Hi, so string of pearls is one of my favorite succulents and they are actually a bit different for care than other 'regular' succulents. I did my research on this plant as I've always had an issue with actually trying to grow it lush and then propagate it. So this is what I know. Hopefully it helps~ 1. They prefer 4-6hrs of MORNING sun. 2. They need protection from afternoon sun during summer time as it becomes very hot and will in turn dry out your poor pearls. 3. Terracotta pots are ideal when growing these guys as it is porous and will help evaporate excess water and keep the soil aerated. 4. Try not to repot these guys for a few years as they like to be bunched up. Only do so if it is looking thick or puny and needs a refresher. 5. These guys are a bit different to other succulents because they actually prefer to keep slightly moist. Water every 2 weeks or when 1.5" of soil is dry on top. If you aren't sure you can stick a toothpick in the dirt and see if it comes up wet and dirty or clean and dry. 6. If it gets hot in your apartment and dries out the succulent fast water it every week depending on if the top soil is moist or dry. 7. Now keep the soil moist in spring and summer time. 8. During spring and summer months don't forget to fertilize it every month. That's how you get them nice and thick and pretty :) 9. If the plant is looking sparce or you want it to grow more thick another way is to propagate into the pot it's already in. Just take the pearls off the end where you had cut it (about 3") and then stick that end in the dirt. Eventually it will root and start to grow. You can also just lay it on top of the soil and push gently so the string is slightly covered by dirt. Again I'm still learning but this is what I came up with by researching.

@@AudrieStorme I'm glad I could help :) I can't remember how you have your maidenhair set up as well but they like humidity so try to mist it daily or put a pebble tray underneath the pot so the water can evaporate around the plant keeping it sufficiently coated.
