I have to say, Brian and Chris, I do wish the URCNA would think more about church planting. (but NOT always in huge cities using commuter churcher - some of us do not like big cities and flee from them). Big cities are less and less safe. We are now living in the Baptist land of Texas. Nada URCNAs. Yet, so many CHristians from which to glean who are searching for true reformed preaching. Because it cannot be found easily, CREC has taken over this area, and 3 baptist churches that are trying to be reformedish now exist. There are a few OPCs in scattered large cities but seriously, no one likes to commute so far to church. There are NO truly reformed churches near us (Granbury, TX would be a great location to reach several smaller cities where people would be willing to drive. But Granbury and surrounding cities have been infiltrated by CREC people who are soon going to fly the coop once they realize what DW is all about. This area is ripe and there IS interest. I'm a reformed pianist -- we will help! I wish I could tell you the number of people I run into that would love to attend a true reformed church -- but Baptists rule here. So, please -- URCNA, think about those of us stranded in the evangelical wasteland. Escondido might feel like Mecca, but remember us :) And please put away the commuter church thing -- there are great communities here wanting this kind of church. We have so many people from other states moving in who understand real reformed theology, but with no where to go. So, we settle.......and end up watching sermons online. No way to form real community of the saints. Why can a daughter church be long distance? Why does it have to be close to another one already existing while others are starving in other locations? I get the financial issues - but daughter churches don't have to be close - they could be in another state. They can do an internship at the mother church -- but send them out into a community that has NO URCNAs, but still attached to the mother church.
