Linda, I understand you on those ants because they are getting on my last nerves, too!

I thinks the ants could be getting in because you placed holes on the bottom, and all up around the side of the tote. Then sat the bin directly on the ground. You didn’t place that bin inside of another bin to catch the worm tea. A solid base helps keep pests out. I put mesh on all the holes I drilled around the side of my worm bin.🤷🏽♀️ Most species of ants will not harm the worms however they will eat the worm food. If those are aggressive ants they will end up killing some of your worms. Thanks for sharing.🪱

@@Sweettomatovine happy to help. It’s just my opinion I started with an in ground worm bin. Then when to an indoor worm bin. I don’t have first hand knowledge on ants in my bin. I wish you much success.😊🪱

I don’t have any problem with totes and holes either on the bottom or sides…no mesh needed and it allows worms up into tote to do their magic. But I also live in an area where ants are small, not fire ants😱 so it may be different for others. My compost in place work wonderfully. Th only problem I have is a possum or raccoon digging in the tote whic I stop by covering with chicken wire

I remember the cushaw squash. I was resistant to eating any kind of squash when I was a kid. I love squash now. I am going to have to revisit trying the cushaw squash again. Thanks for sharing the memories and where your inspiration come from. 💕💕👍👍🥰🥰

Everything looks great. How long can you leave your emergency potato 🥔 stash out there. Can it stay throughout the summer?
@Sweettomatovine

Hi Donna❤️ Yes it can stay through the Summer and it will continue to produce. I have potatoes that have come back from last year in my raised beds so the cycle continues the same way with the emergency potatoes 😊💚

Good afternoon, I pray you are well. Do you eat your collards if they have little holes in them, and also do you top your herbs and pepper plants? Thank you
