Cool vid. Your detail was very good. Your vid gave my kids the courage to make their own plot. The one thing different was that I showed them how to make is a multi hole dibble that lays out 10 at a time, After all was said n done, there's now an assortment of differently spaced dibbles in the shed ready for next year. Happy farming !

All im trying to get people to do is be encouraged to start a garden and it’s the time of year to grow some onions. If you live in the city and have no clue where to get onions then you can just go to a garden center and get some. Too many people rely on grocery stores too much and they do not know where our food comes from. If you ask most kids my age or younger where the food came from I bet over 80% would have no clue. I love to see kids and adults start a garden.

Plant short day onions in deep south in winter. Plant long day onions in the northern States early summer. And intermediate day onions.... Make sure you get the right varieties for your zone and plant at the right time of year. If your watching dollars and sense, order seeds, best value , by plants online much cheaper, 120 per bundle. Very good vid, like your stick, saves some back beding. 1 inch is plenty deep, no more. Keep up the good work. Trying out candy this year, and red creole longer shelf storage.

Terry Leblanc I don't agree with you. Spanish onions in southern Spain are planted in late winter into late spring. They are planted at other times too, depending on where you live and what your average temperature is year around. Some areas have longer growing season and just might need a little bit more water and shade.

When a retailer puts a regular (not discounted) price on an item, it is an invitation to the consumer to make an offer for that particular item. Yes, that sounds strange, but that’s how it is most places. The retailer generally is not obligated to sell the item at that price; they do in order to maintain a good relationship with their customers, and to have a good reputation in the community generally. The bundles of onions at Lowe’s, The Home Depot, and garden centers are not made by some higher authority; they are made by the supplier and are subject to unfortunate or inappropriate selecting and re-bundling by other consumers. Think of it this way: when you go to the market and you select a carton of eggs to buy, you may check to be sure that none of the eggs are cracked or broken. Were you to discover a broken egg and substitute it with a non-broken one from a different carton of the same size and brand of eggs, you end up with what the store wanted to sell you all along: 12 unbroken eggs. Were you to put in “Extra Large” eggs into your “Large” carton, you would be doing something dishonest. So, when you discover that your 60-count bundle of onions contains 50 onions and you add the missing six to make the bundle conform to the count stated on the packaging, you are not cheating anyone. You are merely making the bundle on which you wish to make an offer to the retailer match the claim that the retailer makes when it puts the bundles up for sale. That said, however, sorting and adjusting the bundles is not the consumer’s job. It is the store’s job. Blake’s adjustment of the bundle was not dishonest, nor was it illegal. The proper thing for him to have done would have been to tell a store employee that he wished to buy a sixty-count bundle of onions and then let that employee either make the adjustment or, if the employee is so authorized, allow Blake to make the adjustment. His mistake was assuming that Bonnie’s Farm had bad bulb counters. What is far more likely is that Bonnies sent out bundles of 60 but, as was pointed out earlier here, other consumers had resorted and re-bundled to too great an extent prior to Blake’s visit. Based on his explanation of later events, it is also likely that the store would have given him all of the remaining onions the once their attention had been drawn to the problem - at Blake’s first visit. At no time did Blake “steal” anything. He experienced no unjust enrichment; his only error was one of protocol, not of morals or legality. Lastly, having viewed many of Blake’s videos, I suspect he is no stranger at both the local Lowe’s and The Home Depot stores. I suspect he is a good customer and, based on his age, is likely to continue to be a good customer for many decades to come. What he did was right, albeit flawed from a communications standpoint; what the store did was right, inasmuch as he had to make multiple trips to get what was promised by the bundle packaging. He also makes really good videos. Good job, Blake!

@reddog9884
10 жыл бұрын
I liked your video with one huge exception. You are a thief! It is NOT okay to remove onions from other bundles and add to your own. Stealing is wrong. It makes me wonder if you really only paid for the two bundles and stole the rest and the wooden box at Home Depot. You seem quite comfortable in taking from others to help yourself. That's really too bad because other than that, you seem like a very nice young man willing to put in some work.
@TheBushdoctor68
10 жыл бұрын
I got a feeling that he meant taking the bulbs that were fallen of other bundles. Basically the waste left in the crates. He explained about the crate full of bundles while only paying for two bundles, it's because they were getting ready to throw out the entire crate, so he got a deal on those. :)
@1caramarie
10 жыл бұрын
If the bundle is supposed to be 60 onions and he takes 10 more and ends up with 54, exactly what is he stealing? MINUS 6 onions? Did you fail math? Obviously other people were picking and choosing and taking from other bundles INCLUDING the one he bought. Before accusing some one of being a thief, you should first find out if he actually stole something. "That's really too bad" that YOU don't use your brain before making accusations.
@jackfrost3573

I do not condone theft in any way. It is wrong and no excuse for it. NOW...look at the junk that home depot and lowe's sells. Every time I leave one of those places I feel as if I was stolen from. Example: I has a sprinkler for about 10 years. It wore out, I go to home depot and replace it. I used it for 2 weeks and it broke. I returned it and upgraded it to a more expensive model. It broke... now I ask who is stealing from who? I can return the junk but who is paying for the gas?
@sotxbob

Dont be an ass Fred. He plainly said he was shorted on the stated count. This seems to be a very common practice. I have never received the full bundle from Bonnie either and have been told by the garden center manager to feel free to make the count up from other bundles. This is a very common practice in the majority of honest garden centers.
