Linda I'm new to your channel, and I must say you had me laughing; Especially on how you were speaking seriously about the snake; But what really got me is how you was planting your strawberries and you couldn't keep your mind focused off the snake, you had to touch bases on the conversation again, now at this point I was on the bed laughing hysterically and crying at the same time, Linda I had to subscribe to you! I'm afraid of snakes as well so I definitely understand your feelings about snakes, but I ran across 2 of them in my garden bed and I was stomping the hell out of them with my garden boots.

You are one of my all time favorites!!! ❤ At first it was that great smile and dedication to getting your garden done...everyday... but today, Gardening in the rain, talking about how tuff the leather snake is on your "tools"... Im hooked forever!!!... I live in Portland Oregon so gardening in the rain is totally natural, as we get it all 4 seasons... I love being out in it with the smell of the fresh earth and sneaky droplets getting to me... It makes the colors pop and the air so delicious... And I am so grateful that we don't have poisonous snakes... I'm not brave when it comes to those nasty snakes... poisonous or not!... Thanks for the inspiration and stay safe out there! ❤

Hi Gwen❤ You’re right to keep a shovel in your hand. Put the mothballs at the perimeter of the garage only. I don’t want your groceries tasting like mothballs. 😂Those things are pungent 😊💚

Yes, chickens do eat poisonous snakes, snakes, worms, your name, bugs, spiders it won’t hurt them like they do but they will eat them. They think they big worms, small snakes they’ll pick up the big ones and eat them.

Hi Linda! I am new to your channel and have really been enjoying your videos. I asked my brother, who is kinda a snake expert about the chickens eating snakes. Well, he said no, the chickens don't usually eat snakes but they will. They will kill snakes to protect their chicks or eggs. So, it sounds like your chickens were trying to take care of that snake. I would still keep my shovel handy. Thanks for the video! 😊

😂😂😂She said "smurfette tiptoeing, lalala". 😆😆. I feel you Linda. I have to "transition" snakes on my property too. I had a couple get caught in the netting & died. The bigger the snake, the harder to "finish" (if you get my drift). The critters are real & there are many. I have to go in the house @ dusk as soon as I hear the coyote start.

Hi Shaannette ❤ I hope you don’t have any snakes in your garden, but you always want to see them before they see you. Snakes can hide and when they see you, they can camouflage and blend in the their surroundings. As a gardener, knowing this, I am always looking for them. Don’t stick your hand in a place until after you’ve stuck your shovel in there first. Don’t become complacent thinking there are no snakes in your garden because you live in the city. Snakes are all over the world. I don’t want any one to be too afraid to garden, I just want my fellow gardeners to be aware and be careful. We are the ones who are going to lead our family and friends into sustainability so we can’t leave anything out❤😊💚

@@Sweettomatovine have you ever heard that mothballs, sulfur and gourds keep snakes away. Or to plant peppermint, marigolds or lemongrass around the perimeter. And they say snakes hate ammonia, to place a rag with ammonia on it in a plastic bag and sit it where you normally see the snakes . Ammonia is the smell they hate the most. Hope it helps

😂😂😂smh Linda you had me laughing so hard but scared at the same time.😂 Im sorry but if i came across a snake in my garden, I'm being honest. It would be a long time before I went back out in my garden. However, I don't live in an environment that has snakes. I'm not saying it wouldn't or couldn't happen. Anything is possible. As always, thanks for sharing and giving us a good laugh 😂😂 Stay safe!

Hi Elwanda ❤ I used to be the same way, but now I shake it off and I mean literally because I be shaking like Don Knotts in “ The Ghost and Mr Chicken “, but I know I’m on a mission out here to get my groceries and if I have cut through a few snakes to get them. That’s what I’m gonna do. I’m going to do my best to be careful though. ❤😊💚

Hi Latosha ❤ One thing I like about Winter gardening is that snakes don’t come out as often. They will come out on a warm Winter da. I used to think that snakes hibernated, but after researching, I learned they don’t. They move slow when it is cold they burrow themselves in a warm area. Stay safe and blessings to you and your family ❤😊💚
