I personally find this one to be quite weird. While the other worlds' OSTs are a good listen on their own, Lost City fits way more with the in-game sounds. It sounds like a 100% battle focused OST to enhance the intensity of the levels. Pretty smart, but makes it a bit harder to just casually listen to.

Basically there was a time when people were flocking to Mesoamerica to find ancient cities from people like the Mayans and Aztecs, ya know? So hoaxes began to pop up (like the skulls that one zombie had, they were foraged for fame) and I think the lost city of gold was one of them? I think it's considered to be a settlement of the Aztec empire though. Basically the movies and partial truths about this era lead to this world.
@piggyman-st8iu
2 жыл бұрын
As I’ve already mentioned in another comment, this world seems to take place in the 1930’s. Planes are already a well-established part of society, the thought of finding gold in a lost city seems to reflect back on the Great Depression, and the music’s quality (until Mid-wave B and Final Wave) seems to emulate old movies. An option for a grainy black-and-white scale would’ve been nice.

0:01 the movie starts with the protagonists being explorers, finding out about and ancient temple that is hidden in the densest of jungles, as if the temple was encompassed by a labyrinth that engulfs those who dare to enter. The protagonists try their best to locate the temple despite the risks. 1:12 as the protagonists enter the temple, a jagged log swung towards the protsgonists. They narrowly dodge it, realising it was a trap set by the ancient builders. At 3:18, the protagonists have managed to not die to the deadly traps until 3:28 where the protagonists encounter an ancient creature that is released by a tripwire. 5:11 the climax of the film, the antagonists have reached the temple and are trying to get by the traps whilst going back and forth with the protagonists running from the creature and finding ways to outrun or destroy it. 7:29 the protagonists have outran the persuing creature and have located the treasure room, but the antagonists have too, they have a fight scene where they try to get rid of the other through activating the existing traps in the treasure room. However, this is when the protagonists realise that the ancient creature is still lurking but in another room. They realise that they need to break the wall to unleash it to get rid of the antagonists, despite knowing how dangerous the creature is after their first encounter, with the antagonists gone, its the protagonists and the creature... 9:41 the protagonists grabbed the treasure, realised that this creature is a creature created by the ruler of the temple to safeguard it, as evident by the carvings on the walls. By the looks of the temple. The ancient creature has beeb isolated from humanity for at least a few centuries before its first reunion with humans. The protagonists try to sympathise with the creature and calm it. The creature calms down and follows the protsgonists to continue it's duty as assigned by it's former master and the protagonists grab the treasure as they came for and returned with a new friend, with all of them looking at the sunset
