In this video you will learn about the 4th & 5th states of matter, called Plasma and BEC respectively. In general, plasma is a mixture of electrons and cations. This video gives a very detailed discussion on the interesting topic of plasma & BEC. You will get to know tremendous of informative points about plasma & BEC in this video.
Plasma : If the temperature is high enough, the electrons (at least those of the outermost orbits) acquire enough KE to escape from the orbit around the nucleus. This is the plasma state, where a gas becomes a collection of negatively charged electrons and the positively charged ions. • In general, plasma is a mixture of electrons and cations. • Eg. Fluorescent light bulbs, neon sign, neon lamp, stars, lightning & plasma TV. (Images given below) • Neon lamp or neon glow lamps are widely used as indicator lamps in the displays of electronic appliances. • It is estimated that as much as 99.9% of the universe is comprised of plasma.
Boss-Einstein Condensate : The BEC is formed when a gas having very low density, of the order of 1/100000 of the density of normal air, is cooled to super low temperatures (very close to absolute zero).
Note : If plasma are super hot and super excited atoms, the atoms in a BEC are total opposites. They are condensate, unexcited and supercold atoms.
Thus, this video is very helpful and informative for the students of class 9 and also for science lovers. I hope you will enjoy watching this video.
