Dutch brewery Royal Grolsch relies on a plastic-free, recyclable packaging system to pack its beverage cans - namely the KHS Innopack Kisters CNP. The modular Carton Nature Packer is based on KHS’ tried-and-tested packaging machines. It can be precisely configured to cater for beverage fillers’ specific wishes and market demands and added to at any time. The machine can process up to 108,000 cans per hour to form packs of four, six or eight containers - without using any plastic whatsoever!
This packaging solution has been developed in close cooperation with Smurfit Kappa. Beverage cans are held together by a cardboard topper or clip without adhesive. This makes the packaging completely plastic-free! The topper can also be recycled and protects the can lids from soiling.
The Carton Nature Packer is not only convincing when it comes to sustainability but also scores with additional functions such as can orientation and the billboard effect this creates - for excellent brand presentation and outstanding marketing options.
