This would definitely be worthy of a large coffee table book, with incidentals & details about each model. I know I would buy one & love to have one on my coffee table. How is this extensive of a collection even possible? Practically unbelievable!

I've enjoyed this. I'm presently getting back in touch with my inner child. I'm working on the old Aurora kits. I finished The Wolfman's Wagon and wish I could post a picture of it here. I'm presently putting paint to Frankenstein's Flivver. And as soon as Frank's Flivver is done, it's on to The Mummy's Chariot. Talk about getting in touch. There were some major problems with these models. And as a retired person, I'm encountering the same issues. But, I've got more patience now and am enjoying the challenges.

I had all of the Aurora Monster Kits when I was a kid, and have many of the re-issues since then. I also had most of the Monster Scenes Kits (with Dr. Deadly and The Pendulum), and a majority of the Prehistoric Scenes Kits. I had all of the Planet of the Apes models except for the Gorilla Soldier on Horseback. I had an assortment of dinosaur/caveman models from various companies. I still love to build/paint monster models, and my skills have improved vastly over the decades. I also had quite the collection of monster magazines when I was a kid, all lost through time, and I’m proud to be a current contributor (illustrations and articles) for Scary Monsters Magazine. I even wrote an article about building/painting monster kits that was published in Scary Monsters titled BE A MODEL CITIZEN!

Just a fascinating and painstakingly complete collection of Aurora models. A bygone era never to be seen again. I was unaware of all the seemingly endless figure models such as the old west, the presidents collection, and the gladiators. I'm envious of the JFK and Washington models. Would love to own them. Thank you so much for documenting your collection. Would love to see Moebius or Atlantis re-issue more of these. They haven't scratched the surface on what Aurora had. I hope they do more. So many childhood memories brought back in times when we need them. Thank again for showing this.

Very very cool collection; brings back memories of when I was a kid and had all of the original Aurora box kits of the universal monsters. Though for Godzilla I had gotten him premade/pre-painted from some place. But yeah now that I remember: The hunchback: He had the long hair on the box but the short AQ hair on the actual model. The Phantom: I remember that scene with the prisoner holding the bars. I didn't glue his mask to his hand because I wanted it loose to also put on his face. I painted him flesh not green but that looks cool on yours. The Wolfman: the original box was the one with his face and hands glowing, not behind the tree. The Creature: It had no big background wall and just one lizard. Dracula: cape was weird to me with 2 pieces flowing over the front but that's how they made him. Jeckyl/Hyde: was the one with the table and stool lying on its side. The forgotten Prisoner reminded me more of Pirates of the Caribbean. I used the glow bones. I never saw Bride of Frankenstein, Invisible man or Dracula's daughter I don't think they were part of the first series. I remember most of the boxes being more square than tall rectangle. I would keep the boxes with the unused parts, but not in their plastic wrap covering. The model parts were either black or glow colored. I didn't like using other glow body parts because I wanted them fully painted so I just used some of the glowing scenery pieces like the skulls, rats, plants or branches and maybe a few of those mummy shrouds. Last one I got was the witch just to complete the set. I wasn't really into that one too much. I had that same Spock model too! Aiming his phaser at the 3-headed serpent. I didn't glue him down, I wanted him loose to be able to play with. From the prehistoric series I had the big green dinosaur, the sabertooth and the neanderthal man. I also had those Aurora planet of the apes kits of Zaius, Cornelius, and Ursus. Just saw him now, I had that Revell Rat Fink Sleazy Rider with a motorcycle too! Fink pieces in bright green plastic. I remember those monster scenes and Vampirella and Dr. Deadly but my neighbor friends had some of those. 1 model I had that I didn't see here was the Revell Peter Pan Pirate ship Jolly Roger (a tough build for a kid my age). Came in orange plastic parts that I never painted, just put the flag stickers on.

Back in the day (1970's) I had the whole set of Aurora glow-in-the-dark monster diorama kits... They were pretty sweet, each kit had a piece of the monster or part of the diorama that would glow in the dark ! There was Frankenstein, Wolfman, The Mummy, The Creature of the Black Lagoon, Mad Doctor, and a couple others

Thanks for the tour of your amazing collection, Phil! Seeing all the factory paints, store displays, and prototypes is especially thrilling. If any more prototypes are produced as kits, I know I, for personal reasons, would love for The Phantom to get the styrene treatment. I know that's likely a pipe dream -- but I'll keep on dreaming. I'm flattered to see the Green Lantern kit I designed and did box art for among your kits. And now any time my wife is tempted to tell me I have too many model kits, I can always refer her to your video! I'm extremely grateful!

What an incredible collection! Bravo! Would love to see these in person if you ever give tours, LOL. Even saw one of my pieces in there (the Aurora Hunchback backdrop) and have to wonder how you dust these things? I too would love to see the Phantom in styrene, but that would be a big project. The MOM Mirror for Jeckyl would be a must if you ever released it. Again, thanks for sharing your collection. The best video I have ever seen on you tube! Jim

Great collection ! The historic value alone is on a par with the sheer volume of kits ! As a collector of kits and toys I really admire how you have these displayed and the security you've got in place is warranted ! A real museum of rare pieces ! As a kid who grew up in the 50's I recognize so many of your kits (and have some of in my own home). But your store displays and prototypes really blew me away ! About the only thing I didn't see were the Universal Monster wallets from the 60's. Perhaps I missed them as you were recording. Like I said before, Great Stuff !
