a sad story? A buddy of mine several years back was holding his cell phone at a local gas station while fueling. The cell phone suddenly rang. All of a sudden a ball of flames blew up the whole side of that station. He got blown pretty far and got severe burns but survived.

Are there any cell phones that don't "suddenly" ring or vibrate? If cell phones at gas stations are an issue how come we don't see them "suddenly" blowing up all over the world? I think you are pulling some legs here or there was a different issue there.

Nice video. What would you recommend in place of your plastic rod? Something around the shop
@smalltownmachineshop6860

I keep old plastic gas tanks on hand just to cut strips from, if the plastic is thick enough you can also just melt it back together though it will be thinner there, plastic bowls are also a good source of rod

@@smalltownmachineshop6860 I like the odds. They had 3 other machines that they lowered and lowered in price every few weeks. One was a small geared head LeBlonde lathe that sold for like $200, and the other was a big universal mill that I think sold for like $300.

I've seen where people use the plastic ties. Is the plastic they are made of, the same as the rods?
@smalltownmachineshop6860
3 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe it is, the rods are a lot softer. The rods that come with it work well for fuel tanks. Iv also used plastic strips cut from thicker fuel tanks and it seems to work good on most applications

I just have the kit that I got from harbor freight. The plastic filler rods it comes with are actually very good on many plastics and The Who kit is only like $15
