What about wrapped steel that catches spalling/splash. Cool set up by why so many tourniquets. Do you specialize in medical and expect to treat many gun shot wounds? I carry 2 only because I just had an extra one. What’s ur defense. I’ll steal that defense as my friends all mock me for running 2. I tell them that they are for them as I expect to have to save their sorry asses. lol. I like ur set up but I’m a heavy guy. Like power lifter /fat. Do they sell xxxl carriers?

I don't know much about steel plates wrapped in a coating, other than "people say" it doesn't catch all the spall and whatever it doesn't catch can potentially cause lacerations to your neck and under arms, which can be lethal. For the TQ's, I was only running one on my belt and one on my PC until I took a series of TCCC classes, taught by a combat medic. He stressed the importance of having 1 TQ for every limb. Now don't get me wrong, I don't anticipate ever being in a combat situation where I need them, especially since I am not MIL/LEO, but having one for each limb seemed logical to me. Also, you may need to double up TQs on one limb in some cases to control bleeding. I don't think they have XXXL carriers. But the carrier size is not about your weight. It's about how big your vital organs are. If you can get a measurement from nipple to nipple and from your clavicle notch to your belly button (then subtract about 3 inches) that should give you a good idea of what size plate and plate carrier you need.

Pretty nice setup and well thought of! 1 advice I can give you, is not route your antenna behind the water bladder. The tip is not the important part for sending/receiving signal, but the whole antenna is a part of it. Water is a great radio signal blocker, so routing it behind the water bladder reduces your range. Take care an stay safe!

Nice set up man. The only thing i advise you its to open the time tag on your TQ to apply them fast if needed!

Good observation. Not many people would have noticed that. The 2 on the chest placard kept getting stuck on things, so i closed them. The one under the dump pouch is usually open, as is the one on my pistol holster.

I like the setup! I've been going over mine a lot lately and its great to see that Im on the right track with mine. I unfortunately only have a cheap Condor carrier. I like the radio setup. That's something I need to do, move my radio pouch and get a longer, flexible antenna. Add a dangler and I'm good to go, I think.

@@TacOut thanks! It would be nice if I could do it exactly like I did when I was active duty but I don't want to spend the kind of money that kind of kit requires!

I actually don't right now. I haven't been in the plate market for a couple years now and haven't kept up with new production models. If it were me, id still look at the Dayton Armor site. They make a lot of the gov't plates for other manufacturers. Pretty sure they make Velocity System Plates. You can also checkout the plates Ferro Concepts sells. Theres also Hesco, which have had some QC issues in the recent year bt they also just came out with a new plate.
