Playalong tunes: country dance and session tunes played in an English style at a steady speed for playing along with, in D or G, or with both keys within the tune. When the instrument used is a melodeon, the keyboard is a standard 'funny notes' layout in D/G.
Videos in this Playalong series may be played on a melodeon, fiddle, tenor banjo (tuned GDAE) or whistle.
You may find it useful to slow the speed of the video to find out more about how I play this tune; KZitem has this facility in the settings, which can usually be found somewhere in the right of the screen. It is also possible to loop videos so you don't have to keep pressing the start button.
Rants are played fairly quickly, as the dance requires, and as usual I would say this Playalong demo is on the slower side of what you might hear played for dancing. A favourite rant tune wherever it's played, The Morpeth Rant is usually attributed to William Sheild, who wrote or perhaps popularized it around 1792
