I remember listening to this song on KILT 610AM(in Houston) about 1966. There were many good bands from TX back then. I have been looking for this song for a very long time and I'm glad I found it on youtube. Now I hope I find it on cd.

I grew up in Beaumont, Texas and KAYC played the heck out of this version. Thought it was great. I was in a band at the time and this one made us believe it was possible to be from Texas and make it!

Love this song. Still play drums to the 45 I bought at an oldies record and car show 10 years ago. I carried my original 45 to my second trip to Nam and finally wore out the grooves.

Good Ole Edinburg Fellas. Jerry McCord, James Williams, Mike Williams, Val Curl, and Don Faires. Jerry also played the trumpet or the cornet in the EHS Band. Mr. Burford was the band director. I remember seeing them play at the " Annual Scandals" and EHS talent show.

I associate this song with other songs (on TOP 40 at same time) such as "Red Rubber Ball",, "Summer in the City",, "Bus Stop" (by the Hollys) "Paperback Writer",, "I am a Rock" (Simon & Garfunkel), and "Kicks". Great memories from millions of years ago! :-)

The Rockin' Berries would've had a hit with this if they'd covered it.

Which came first, Bobby Vee's or this one? They are very similar.

Anyone remember the Green Flame? I also see vids of Zachary Thaks out of CC are online. I wonder if Christopher and the Souls is online. How bout the Cruisers out of Harlingen? And the Brownsville band called The Inn Keepers?
