Lex this is the second time I ever posted a comment on any VLOG. I play recreationally but your VLOG provides me with knowledge when I play and to be real about the possible outcome of the session. You show the upswings and the downswings and I appreciate your honesty and integrity. You’ll take that step back to evaluate your play and start your way back just like you have before. Best of luck and I’m eager to see more of your VLOG. JV

He played it exactly as the solver would (including the river shove) except on the flop. He bet 1/3, solver bets 75% almost exclusively with all AA combos. Which would have folded out villains hand in this case.

Yes, jamming was a mistake. The bet on the turn was a key indicator. You said it was a better card for him and you were right. You might justify calling the turn and river, but not jamming

I'm always delighted when I see you have posted a new Vlog. I was sorry to see your losing streak continued, but I thought your advise on the mental game was very worthwhile. The first four months of the year were very profitable for me, but since then I've been having trouble posting two wins in a row and my net results have been stagnating. Your point of view is very encouraging. Thanks!

Outtro was golden 👍 Another mental tool I use is that of a professional athlete (baseball/ basketball) who goes 0 for 4 with 3 strike outs or 3 for 14 from the field. Just need to believe in yourself and put previous days behind you and start fresh the next time...

Appreciate your honesty Lex. Losing for a month or two is no fun. Wait till you hit a breakeven/losing stretch of 8-10 months in a row, where you have to play lower to regroup and rebuild your br. "That's" where the real mental toughness test is. Most can't go through it. Some quit. Some don't, and some are quite never the same after. Some will never experience this brutal side of the bell curve, but it can get ugly. Very ugly. It's still the best game in the world imo and I'm still grinding 20yrs later. Some are sicker than others I guess. :) Be well homie and keep at it.

I still remember a down swing and getting delt a pocket pair 3 hands in a row and losing..believe it or not got delt pocket sixes and when someone raised i folded right away..well i would have had quad sixes and the someone had quad queens as i got to see him win against Aces...but the bad beat here at Playground at the time was losing with quad sixes and i would have won $175,000 and he as the winner of the hand about $87,000....He even commented i hope no one folded pocket sixes...This is a good example that previous hands and losses have no bearing on the future...Each hand..each roll of the dice..are independant of each other.. so losing or winning streaks will always level out to the true odds...Keep playing with confidence which always helps..

I am on a down swing myself playing solid poker. It happens but definetely try not to make it all in 1 or 2 sessions. Gotta stay focused. I know when to leave as hard as it may be and yes, raising AA there was hell ambitious. He has all the sets there or J10 suited on a 3 bet pot. As I watched the video, I never put him on 34 but I thought he has 10s or 10J by the river. As bad as it sounds, I would have not even called the $1,000 river bet, specialy when running bad. Just my 2 cents.

I like the xr on river. On turn your range is very wide when u check. Now, if he’s having all 34o, it means he’s gonna end up on river with a range that make 10x hands strong. I think jam is slightly better than call.

If you know the opponent on the AA river jam hand is losing and/or really sticky, I guess I can get behind a jam, but for the most part it’s probably too thin to jam. Most one pair hands on that board will find a fold and he shouldn’t have any one pair JX hands.

IMO the AA hand was a classic beginner's mistake -- jamming when a call is likely only from a hand that beats you. You know the guy, but to me it felt like a single pair was not gonna win that hand. I certainly didn't expect to see 34, but I did expect to see 66, TT, JJ, or JT. Button doesn't have to 4 bet any of those hands.

If you’re stuck big it’s best just to leave if the action is bad. They are unlikely to be tilted and won’t give away chips as easily as if they were. You’ll be at a disadvantage cause you’ll be opening with wider ranges trying to make your money back, and they will either fold or punish you when they’re ahead of your range. You need a couple whales to make it worth staying

Long time viewer here. I think it's my first comment ever but simple advice about how to handle bad sessions, down swings, etc. Cash game grind is infinite one. It's 1 big lifetime session. Results of each hand/session or week/month are irrelevant. It's always good to keep that in your mind. With this approach u should never chase loses, changing strategy to be calling station or overagro monkey - that's what usually happens to solid players when they are on bad streak, losing flips or are tilted in any way. What's also good is to review the hands straight away to judge quality of your gameplay. If it's not at least B- and table doesn't have super weak players it's just better to call it. Change table, venue or just go to bed to get good sleep and get ready for new day.

OK, you asked for "input". As You know "focus" is critical in Poker. I thought about the 3,4 for a straight. When he raised, You should have given it thought instead Your focus was on winning Your money back and not just playing Your best poker. Maybe this "down swing" has had more affect on You than you realize. Your game is usually pretty solid. Play your best game. Streaks come and go. That's poker. It's how you manage it that will determine what happens next. Best wishes and ignore the moron about the height crack. We both know what's really important!! Hahaha 😅😅😅

You should try betting around pot when you have pocket AA or over-pairs on the flop. That way crap cards have a really hard time drawing out on you. When you bet quarter pot you are basically checking. Forget about betting consistency because most people are stupid and don't recognize this. Also jamming over that shovel bet on the river was beyond stupid because they are only calling if they have you beat.

I never understand why people who have the nuts chase opponents away by betting. Sure once in a while perhaps you make a small bet but letting opponents catch up is key to getting max Betting almost insures getting minimum He could also have had j 10 against your AA so going all in was always risky Unless he's getting out of line with a 10
