Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage! opened at Disney-MGM Studios on Oct. 1, 2001, replacing Bear in the Big Blue House - Live on Stage. The show was updated a few times to present new Playhouse Disney shows. In the Feb. 2008 update, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, Handy Manny, and Little Einsteins replaced older shows. This video was taken a few months after the new updates. On March 4, 2011 the new Disney Jr. - Live on Stage opened and it featured Jake and the Neverland Pirates instead of My Friends Tigger and Pooh. The other segments remained the same though. On Dec. 22, 2018 the Disney Junior Dance Party debuted featuring Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Timon, and Mickey Mouse.
In this home video you will see...
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The “Playhouse Disney Theme” plays, and host Casey introduces herself. Mickey Mouse appears and everyone says the magic words to make the clubhouse appear: “Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!” The “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” theme plays and the clubhouse curves onstage. Donald, Daisy, Goofy, & Minnie pop up. It’s Minnie’s birthday and everyone is chipping in to help throw her a surprise party. Daisy will make a sign, Goofy will bake a cake, and Donald will make a birthday song. The characters need help with their jobs, so they ask the Mousekedoer. They sing “Mickey’s Mousekedoer”. It says to listen to stories from other Playhouse Disney shows to help. Toodles comes down (from the Catwalk Bar) and shows a toolbox image. That means a story from Handy Manny.
Handy Manny. The “Handy Manny” theme plays and Casey turns the storybook background to Handy Manny. Manny has a broken bubble machine he needs to fix for a celebration and the tools want to help. The tools sing “Hop Up, Jump In” and jump in the tool box. All the tools sing “We Work Together” and they fix a broken hose. The kids in the audience twist along. The bubble machine smokes and doesn’t work. The only one who can fix it is Pat, the hammer. “Go Pat go!” Pat hammers a nail and the machine works! Bubbles come out and bubbles fall from the ceiling in the theater. Donald now has an idea for a song. Goofy needs an idea now and Toodles comes down and shows an image of Rocket from Little Einsteins.
Little Einsteins. Casey sings the “Little Einsteins Theme” and turns the book background to that show. The characters pop up and say today’s story: “The Great Sky Race” with music by: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Rocket is racing against Big Jet in the sky race and the little Einsteins are going to help. Everyone in the audience pats adagio to start with, then allegro, then everyone waves their hands to make Rocket go super fast. He passes Big Jet and wins a trophy. Rocket lights up and is happy. Mission completion! Goofy gets inspiration to bake his cake, but now Daisy needs help. Toodles comes down and shows an image of the Finder Flag from My Friends Tigger and Pooh.
My Friends Tigger and Pooh. Casey sings the “My Friends Tigger and Pooh Theme” and turns the storybook to a tree background. Darby, Tigger, and Pooh hear the Super Sleuth siren and they help rescue Roo’s kite out of a tree. Tigger says he could bounce and get it, and everyone in the audience bounces too. The kite comes down a little, but not all the way. They sing “Think, Think, Think”. Pooh suggests that wind will blow the kite out of the tree, so the kids in the audience blow really hard and the kite comes down! Leaves also fall from the ceiling all over the audience. The Super Sleuths have done it again. Another mystery is history!
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Casey turns the storybook again and Daisy has an idea for hanging the birthday sign. Use the Handy Helpers. Everyone else has done their job for the surprise party. Minnie arrives and everyone yells, “SURPRISE!” Minnie loves it! Donald’s gift is a song that everyone sings to Minnie, even Casey sings. The kids in the audience dance to the song. Streamers fly out at the end. Yay!!
