I've said it before and say it here again. Talented guitarists can take a £200 guitar and make it sound like a million. The rest of us can take that £1m guitar and make it sound like a £200 banger. Respect to your dad and friend.

I could make it sound great. Chris does have something that I used to feel I had, but years without gigging takes it from a young person. I’ve just recently been playing with old band mates, and have made a new plan to start gigging again. I’m excited, and Chris is one of the players, who has inspired me, to get back at it, snd put as much music as I can out there.

Yeah, guitar like that is kinda like a race car. If my mom drove it, I don’t think anything very good would be happening, but in the hands of a capable driver, I mean it’s just unbelievable… 212 mph

I took my son and his best friend to a guitar show in London, and Bernie was on the PRS stand. He asked for volunteers to jam with him and my son’s friend stuck his hand up. Age 14, he played a blues jam where Bernie left room for him to play and took a back seat. He will never forget that day. We spoke afterwards and he came across as a really genuine guy who loved guitars.

Meet Bernie, in of all place's The Memo in Newbridge Chris. The band i was in at that time, played quite often there in the 70s. And we supported a few bands, as well. We were booked to support Whitesnake there. At that time The Memo had 2 stage's, and when we arrived to set up on the smaller stage, we were surprised to see the big stage empty of gear. We were told by one of the committee that the road crew had turned up, took a look at the stage, and said that it was too small, and shoot off. As we were finishing our first set, i saw a guy fighting his way through the packed crowd. He was carrying a guitar flight case. We had just ended our spot and joined him in the dressing room. The first thing he said was, '' Where's the F...... band. We told him, what we were told. He was not a happy bunny. And told us that he had driven all the way from Oxford. After he had calmed down he left. I thought later, that there must be more to why Whitesnake, never played that night. But that must remain, one of life's mystery's. Now, i can remember all that. But cant remember last week. Don't get old Chris.😀

What a beautiful honor for you to play such a special and history LP as a tribute to Bernie. I never made a connection that Bernie passed on the same day as your dad. Sometimes it’s eerie when things like that happen where two legends pass on the same day, but I personally think those things are meant to happen for a reason. I am certain your dad and Bernie got to cross the pearly gates together - and heaven only knows what glorious music they are playing up there. No doubt, both are super proud of you from up above and hear every note you play. When you miss your dad or Bernie, just pick up a guitar and play.

A lot of these KZitem players are technically impressive if not, awesome But a lot of them will never reach the heights of the people that they copy because of that fact, it’s one thing to be good on KZitem. It’s another thing that millions of people will buy your record because something you did turn them on Chris … is one of those guys that in my opinion has a bright future. He has his own style and he doesn’t copy other people endlessly. In my opinion, he’s a good guitar player and I expect good stuff from him in the future and I’m glad he had the opportunity to play Bernie’s guitar. Bernie would be proud. Chris is a good player.

Wonderful story and fabulous playing. I grew up in Kalamazoo Michigan, just 3 streets away from the Gibson factory on Parson Street. I lived near the factory until 1980. In the old days Kalamazoo got many visits from famous musicians that toured the Gibson factory. Of course, I never met any of the rock stars but it always makes me proud to see the wonderful musical masterpieces that came from the Gibson factory. Much credit must be given to those wonderful employees at Gibson. They pioneered the sound of modern guitar.

As a guitar player myself, I know what it takes to do with these people do and a lot of these KZitem guys technically are great guitar players, but they don’t write their own music and They are never gonna progress unless they start writing their own songs… and that’s hard to do never get past the level Chris on the other hand has a unique style all his own and I think good things are gonna be his future. Chris is unique guitar player…. I am a fan

I'm sorry about your loss Chris. That million pound guitar sounds awesome and you play beautifully, all feel and using all the sustain of these wonderful instruments. I play a custom shop '57 reissue goldtop and it has that same smooth sustain and rich tone. But I love what you do at the end of this video even more , , , it might be my favourite piece I've yet heard you play, the bends, slides and vibrato, the different tones you get out of thumb, fingers and pick, the dynamics, and the way you play the changes. But above all, everything you do here is about the feel and emotion. Long may you do this!

I asked him why he was carrying such a precious instrument in such a rubbish bag and he said “I came on the bus and I don’t want any **** stealing it” 😂
