I love that you do proper long takes rather than constant jump cuts. You're a great speaker. Do* you have a teleprompter or something?

Hey thanks! I try to make the editing process as simple as I can without sacrificing the content. Thank you for the comment. I don’t use a teleprompter however I do write a loose bulleted script to keep myself on track. Also sometimes I use somewhat of a teleprompter in that I may have a large white board behind the screen with points I have to hit. I don’t do this often however. On occasion you may also see a notebook next to me. Those are my talking points haha. Most of it is improvised based on an outline/loose script.

@@WilliamJohnsonmusic I'm floored that you're able to speak coherently for so long without a script right in front of you. You're very talented! I sure wish you could play at my church. Our worship leader is good but you'd certainly add some flair. Lol.

I would love to try and listen for these sort of motifs in my church's music, but my province is on lockdown so we just have our worship leader doing piano and vocals on her own

Such a lovely helpful video. I'm wanting to bring some much needed rhythm to my church and would love to play the cajon but I'm having mix emotions on how to play it respectfully I wear skirts dresses and having my legs open in front of the church is a bit concerning. I play the steel pan but would like to learn and play as many instruments as possible. What do you recommend?

Thank you for watching! Wow great question. Sometimes I play the cajon standing up. I think this can solve your issue. You can put it on a stand such as the gibralter djembe stand (it may take some creative maneuvering depending on the size of the cajon. Also you can try a guitar combo amp stand. It looks perfect for a cajon. Gator works makes one that looks just right. You can use elastic ties to anchor the cajon. This will also tighten the sound. When you sit on a cajon the human body weight does help to focus the sound a bit… i have found elastic mover ties help to do a similar thing.

Check out Heidi Joubert. She pulls off wearing long skirts and playing cajón just fine!
