I've been waiting for someone to really fly this thing. Thanks Nick

Awesome! Watching you fly the Stingray gives me the same feeling that I got the first time I saw a 3d heli fly. Amazement, that's the emotion I was trying to describe.

hey nick I want to try the 6s setup you think you can do that video. I would like the tg multi to have the hold and glide

Just curious why your indoor flight of this quad was posted by someone else?

I have to admit that Youngblood has done a good job of marketing this lately but frankly I don't see it taking off. You have heli's for the collective and yaw response, fragility and complexity. Then you have a regular quad with reversible motors that are way simpler, more robust, and _way_ more efficient (ie. long flight time) but lack collective and yaw response. The Stringray is somewhere in between except way more expensive (what is the flight time, like 4 minutes? lol).

Reversible motors aren't going to cut it for tick tocks or if you want to roll inverted low to the deck. If reversible motors are used, it would absolutely need symmetric propellers that aren't as efficient as the optimized airplane propellers for single direction rotation. You cannot really spin a regular airplane propeller backwards because it produces practically zero lift since they are so optimized for one direction of spin. So much for efficiency of reversible motors. Fixed pitch airplane propellers can be efficient for oncoming air perpendicular to the blade as when used in an actual airplane but these propellers lose much of their efficiency when air comes in at an oblique angle as when quadcopters are in translational forward lift flight. I don't know about you, but I want my rotorcraft to do more than hover.

Yes flight times are low... But it's simple single motor design is more efficient from a mechanical perspective than running four plus motors at varying RPMs. The high cost of the stingray is really in the flight controller. Crashing it isn't expensive at all. You're entitled to your opinion ..,, but until you build and fly one it's hard for you to understand why this product is here to stay. The real question is... When will hobby king steal the design and flight controller.

Hmm..you gotta watch out!.. you making an mockery out of "gravity".. really not an force you wanne be pissing of, unless you got some of the other 3 forces like weak, strong .and perhaps electro on your side... none the less wicked flying..+1
