If you drop your phone in water, the best thing to do is to remove the sim card tray and blow inside the hole with a blow dryer to get rid of the moisture.
Seeing as how most new phones are waterproof, I'd say the previous repairman did a bang up job of making sure it was no longer waterproof Edit: Thanks for the likes everyone!

It makes absolutely no sense that the previous repairman took the phone apart, lost a bunch of screws then put it back together without removing the rice from the charging port or even drying the internals out. This video is incredibly fake.

I lost all respect for this guy because of this clearly faked video. 1. Somehow bits of rice got inside the internals of the phone when there isn't even any openings big enough for them to slip through. 2. Absolutely no water damage at all. Just a few drops of water in the back of the phone that somehow didn't leave any stains or residue. 3. According to him another repairman has been inside the phone and lost screws, even though that is obviously false because there is still water and somehow rice inside the phone. 4. The grain of rice "stuck" in the charging port isn't stuck. It's been haphazardly crammed into the port at an angle, that any homunculus with 2 braincells could remove with a pin.

A few years ago I started collecting silica gel packs, you know the do not eat - throw away stuff you get in whatever. Now I have a large bucket about halfway filled and it dries everything. I’ve dropped my phone in water , chargers , headphones, even the laptop went in there once. It’s awesome.

The best way to dry out something like this is to put it into a vacuum bag, attach a vacuum pump. Let it run for a couple of hours an it should be completely dry. When you lower the pressure water boils at room temperature. The water transitions into a vapor and the vapor is pulled out by the vacuum pump. Look up vacuum bagging when used in composite layups. Making fiberglass or carbon fiber parts.
@RG_Rizzy

Not everyone has that stuff
@robertbacklund4438
2 жыл бұрын
@@RG_Rizzy yes that is correct I mentioned it mainly for people who repair phones etc., however if you do not have insurance on your phone and with the cost of cell phones exceeding 1000 dollars it would be great cheap insurance if you did own a vacuum pump. You can purchase a vacuum pump with a set of gages and hoses used for recharging a cars air-conditioning system for $99 on eBay. To make a vacuum bag use a heavy weight plastic bag like a one gallon freezer bag. Cut off the zip lock and wrap your phone in a layer of polyester fiber sheet, this is used by people who make quilts. It is fairly inexpensive and can be found at any fabric store, I bet that Wallmart sells it. Buy the sheets because it also is sold as fiber fill that is like buying a bag of cotton you will also need a roll of duct tape. Once you have everything wrap your phone in a layer of the fiber sheets insert it into the bag attach one of the vacuum lines to the pump put the other end into the bag and use the tape to seal up the bag around the vacuum hose. If you want to see how much vacuum you are creating connect the blue line to the pump, just follow the directions that are included with the kit. One line goes to the pump and another connects to the fitting on a car freon line just use this line to put into your vacuum bag, turn your pump on for a couple of hours. If you do not want to worry about a vacuum bag you can buy a just a vacuum pump around $65 a vacuum line and a vacuum chamber made out of a stainless steel stock pot that has a thick plexiglass lid with a seal, this lid also has a vacuum guage installed, I think the chamber has a vacuum hose included. This vacuum chamber only costs $65 on eBay. If you buy the larger size chamber you can also use it to vacuum seal large and small Mason jars with anything you want to put into the jar, just put the two part lid normally used for canning loosely on the jar do not tighten it down until it has been vacuum sealed. This system can be used if you use a food dehydrator. If you have dehydrated some vegetables, herbs, fruit etc or anything that will fit that you want to stop rusting just vacuum package it. So this modest investment can have many uses.
