I was at walmart once, and I happen to enjoy peanut butter .. So, I got one of their big store brand PBs, and that was all I got ,I had just finished a work out, and just stopped by to get some PB for protein shakes and ..for eating! Because I can ! Lol ..so the cashier was like "ohhh somebody likes peanut butter, oh wait .. are you pregnant, having cravings??" I know she wasn't commenting on my appearance.. but she was making a comment about what I was eating and also it was just extremely nosey ! Lol .. And I have had serious eating disorder issues since I was a child ... Long story, and who knows with that kinda question, like in this video they said a lot of people struggle with pregnancy stuf, it wasn't happening to me then and I was long since over actively grieving it, but I had two miscarriages when I was 19. I just never comment on pregnancy unless I KNOW the person and I know they are pregnant and they are a Friend of mine lol. but anyway... Yeah it made me very uncomfortable, and I felt awful ... But I chalked it up to her just making conversation and I figured after she saw the horrified look on my face, she had probably felt bad enough and it wasn't my goal to make her feel bad, I don't think she set out to upset me lol ..so I just simply said no I'm not, but yes I do like peanut butter, have a nice day. I use self checkouts now .... 😂

So this reminds me of an funny story that happened to my mom. She had my brother at 17 and me at 35, there's roughly 16 yrs between our births. My brother had his first child when I was 11, and his second when I was 13. So for this story my mom (47 at the time), my brother (29), me (13), my niece (3) and my nephew who was an newborn at the time. Was at an restaurant eating. My mom was holding my nephew while my brother ran outside to get him an bottle. And the waitress came over and said "Congratulations" to my mom. Both me and her was confused. She had to explain that it's her grandchild. I still want to know what the waitress was thinking. Cause by age this all could have somewhat made sense. But still it would be weird 😅😂

I was catching up with a friend and she tells me “well we found out we were pregnant about 10 weeks ago....” and before she could finish I was so excited and was congratulating her and was just over the top excited for her, bc they had been trying for some time. Then she stopped me and said, “no no... unfortunately it was ectopic and I had to have surgery and lost the baby and a Fallopian tube..” I started profusely apologizing and actually cried bc I was so sad for her and so embarrassed for myself. I’ve always tried to make sure that I never assume or speak out of turn about pregnancies, bc I have several friends who struggled with infertility. This is the one time I really wanted to crawl under a rock and hide and it’s one of those things that I still think about and cringe. She was very understanding and knew I meant no harm, but man. Don't get me wrong I'm a lot more independent than Shane, I more less do everything myself, even drive...but there's a massive misconception about disabled people...everyone is painted with the same brush. I work & my partner builds cars for a big manufacturing company so I dont see him rarely due to shifts. I think I've had everything said to me. But my partner does not hold back or take things lightly. I think people seem to think you cant work, you cant drive, you can't be loved etc. Doesnt matter what your needs are whether you are independent like me or severely disabled, everyone deserves a chance. Annoys me when people come out with its a 'kink'; didn't realise being severely ill can be a kink for someone. People are too quick to judge & they don't know if they will ever be put in this position.

I have been struggling to lose my pre baby weight as it is, and because I’ve gained the weight that I lost she swears I’m pregnant. People don’t realize how their words can impact someone. Some of my friends have had a hard time getting pregnant. Watching them go through their struggles taught me a good lesson. Never ask anyone on when they plan to have a family. It can cause a lot of hurt feelings even unintentionally. Now if someone shares with me they’re expecting, or having a hard time getting pregnant I always make sure I only say positive and encouraging things. Life is hard enough, and nobody needs negativity on top of a stressful situation.

You guys are therapeutic for my mental health as I contemplate becoming a content creator (particularly if the “authentic” variety with all its extra vulnerability). Thanks for being so real about your experience as well as your healthy perspective of it. It’s so wise to recognize what you are and are not ready to share yet. People often misunderstand that being authentic somehow means sharing 100% of everything. Choosing what you are comfortable sharing doesn’t mean dishonesty. Having boundaries is necessary because people are crazy.

The little boy lesson on pregnancy was so adorable. My sister boarded a plane and when she got to her seat, the person sitting next to her said: aww, when is your baby due? My sister quickly shot back: seven years ago! So after that, someone would have to be in labor and begging me to help before I uttered anything about pregnancy!

Hannah and Shane, I want to cry watching this video, I love you two sooo much. My sister had many disabilities at birth, once of them being spina bifida, but 30 years ago, the world was a different place. To us she was just Debs, our sister, who was just like us but needed a wheelchair and a few other things we didn’t. Didn’t stop us fighting, arguing, loving each other or having a wonderful childhood. But actually it was a shock growing up realising other people didn’t have different sisters who needed extra help. I hated the way she was treated by other people, talked over, ignored and treated like she was brain dead and incapable of conversing with. When she fell in love at 18 with the most incredible guy she met at her school, everyone outside our family thought it was “disgusting” and abnormal for a disabled person to even be allowed to have a boyfriend. You two have done so much good to raise awareness of disabilities, the problems, the realisation that Shane is just a person, a funny one too, but he sits in a chair unfortunately, and yes, he and everyone else who sits in a chair is able and can be loved simply for who they are. Don’t let those disgusting comments get you down ever, always remember the good you are doing. Debs died 30 years ago this year from her hydrocephalus shunt being blocked and I cry for the opportunities she missed because of her disabilities but I smile for all she accomplished. She packed more into her short life than I have into mine because she knew her life would be short. I wish I could hug you and say thank you personally for all you are doing to say to the world, we are just people like you, despite our differences. Much love to you both and may many itchy diseases and parasites infect Paula head to toe and she finally feel at home. 😂❤️❤️❤️

God bless you for sharing 🙂 the story about debs I wish I would have got to know her... We all have some sort of disability some of it shows some of it's inside so it's a pleasure to know a lot of people with differences than our own and she was wonderful sister and probably a really darling friend. I worked with a young man who had autism and he was the sweetest guy one time I needed money to buy a book for class and he borrowed me the money and I told him I'd pay him $25 a week until it was paid and I did and when he left our school and went on to a 4-year college he decided to try his hand working on radio DJ that type of stuff. And sadly he didn't get to fulfill his dream as he was hit by a train because he was wearing his headphones and he didn't see the train coming or hear it. It was a wonderful experience to have worked with a person as him.

My husband and I were never able to have children and it was so hurtful every family gathering when cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents would ask if when we were going to have a kid. Finally after having to leave in tears my mom stepped in and told the gathering to stop and told them of our troubles. But it had gone on for years. Every holiday, birthday and party. I dreaded it. Please be respectful to others and STOP ASKING, INQUIRING AND COMMENTING ABOUT IT💚
