Thank you for making this video. I just recently enjoyed the art and beauty of film photography and got myself a 35mm Olympus camera. I didn't know how I was going to be able to scan them (because I'm 16 and don't know anything about this type of stuff) so this was really helpful.

Anthony. I feel really stupid, but it is a measure of my ineptness in this digital age. (at 84 I am really trying to learn...). I did not have the mini chip in the card holder, just the holder. I have now proven I can save an image from the scanner, transfer the SD card to the the Mac and download a saved image. The scanza machine now works as you have so helpfully shown on your KZitem video. Thankx for your follow through and not just giving upon me. Mike

Thanks for the very informative video about the Scanza model. I am also considering Kodak's Scan n slide model. I am hearing that model only accepts card mounted slides ( because of their thinness). Did you use both the card and the thicker plastic type in your Scanza?

Anthony, the manual with my Kodak Scanza says on page age 10 under Introduction, "save your treasured memories on the SD card (OR) toyour computer" which would imply you can go direct to the computer. On page 30 the Note says, " SD Card (MUST) be inserted". In my conversation with the tech support rep from Scanza, he said the Scanza must have an SD Card and it must be of the FAT format. That technology is so old that my Mac will not allow me to reformat a current SanDisk 32GB to FAT. I like the features and you have explained the functionality very well, but I am dead in the water and cannot figure out how to get a FAT formatted card...........

Thankx Anthony. I have now unable to format a SD card to put into the Kodak Scanza. I'm told by the Kodak Scanza maker it must be FAT format. My Mac Disk Utility software will not allow me to reformat a 32GB chip for some reason, either with the chip in the computer direct or through the scanner as directed by the tech rep from the scanner manufacturer, I am dead in the water at this point.

Mike Heverly, I am totally at a loss of understanding. I have used numerous SD cards in my Kodak Scanza. I never remember formatting or doing anything at all to prepare the card. I'm going to get out my Scanza manuel and look into that!?

Anthony. I find your instructions very helpful. Please comment further as to how to transfer the saved slides on the SD card to a Mac. How many slides at 14m can be saved on the card? Thankx, Mike
@dahdigital1
4 жыл бұрын
Mike Heverly, I don't have any Mac computers. To put the saved images onto a windows computer, just take the sd card and put into the sd card " slot" on the computer, open the sd card file and open the picture file within documents on the computer, select " all" the files from the sd card and drag to the picture file under documents. I'm pretty sure you can put hundreds of slides on a 32gig sd card.

Thank you for making this video. That slide carrier is a bitch to open so using the next slide to move the old one over is a great idea. Is the old one sliding out of the carrier on the left side? I dont recall that side being open but I really cant remember.
@dahdigital1
4 жыл бұрын
Mark Pinther, yes I learned to just push each slide through the carrier using the next slide, in from the right side and out from the left side. I even made a slide carrier aid. I taped three slides together and it provides leverage in pushing stubborn slides through the carrier.
