Plenary Session | Refuelled BRICS: Searching for Purpose with New Stakes
The inclusion of new members in BRICS marks a new chapter for the group, which was originally formed in the early 2000s during a period of global economic transformation. Today, as geopolitical tensions rise, multilateral organisations are in crisis, and plurilateralism emerges as an alternative platform. ‘BRICS plus 6' holds tremendous economic implications and opportunities, considering market growth, geopolitical influence, and trade dynamics. The grouping must also balance the aspirations and expectations of different stakeholders.
