The goal of the PLNU Athlete Monitoring Initiative (AMI) is to provide coaches with relevant physical, physiological, and psychological metrics that will be used to monitor and enhance PLNU athletes’ overall wellbeing and performance readiness. In collaboration with each sport coach the AMI has established a set of general and sport-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure that data is valuable and immediately actionable. Dr. Goodin and his support team of graduate and undergraduate students collect and archive KPI data to leverage it for use in recruit and player evaluation as well as for retrospective research projects with the Kinesiology department. De-identified data from KPIs along with descriptive and anthropometric data forms the core of PLNU’s new cloud-based Athlete Research Archive.
