Hi great video 😁👍I’m new to this and only tried bass spinning once! Caught nothing but I expected that.why use fluorocarbon and what would be the maximum braking strain?any advice would be appreciated 😁👍thanks

Hi Peter, thanks for the watching, glad you enjoyed it. Fluorocarbon is a massive advantage from monofilament lines, mainly for its transparency in water. If you cut a small piece of clear 20 lb mono, and put it in a glass of water next to a small piece of clear fluorocarbon, the fluorocarbon virtually disappears whereas the mono stands out like a sore thumb. It’s only needed for a leader of around 2 foot. I use 10 lb for perch, 20 / 30 for bass or zander, and 80 / 100 lb for pike as an invisible bite trace.

Great video, and your well trained loyal companion is a star, mine would of been off ragging seagulls within a couple of minutes. Will be doing this on the Devon/Dorset coast over the summer. Couple of quick questions, what manufacturers braid and do they not harness the energy from that flow with a hydroturbine? Regards and subscribed.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Yes the dog is definitely the star of the show, she is amazingly well behaved. As for braid, I use Berkeley whiplash on most of my reels, I think that orange stuff on that particular reel was some cheaper stuff - fox rage 20lb and did the job absolutely fine for the money. 💰. As for harnessing the energy, no they don't. Literally jiterally just a hole in the wall which flows one way on the flood and another on the ebb. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video. 😁

hi mate , they don't harness that power because on the exit side is a railway line then perhaps 20 yds further on is a dual carriageway , its not at all how you imagine it on the other side .

Not a bad video pal but that flow point looked well dodgy I'm surprised there isn't some kind of fencing/protection around it, some dope one day if it hasn't happened already is going to thing if I take a run and jump I recon I can clear it

Jagdpanzer 1944 Ha ha, that’s the problem with surface poppers I suppose. If seagulls were around , it’s usually a good sign that there’s fish around too.

What length do you get on the cast peter..I'd imagine it's not far with the weight of the lure??
@thelureangler4346
6 жыл бұрын
Ian Togher In this situation with the rod and lure I was using I would expect +/- 70 - 80 yards. Lucky for me in this location the outflow let me trot the lure even further so as I had 100 yards + to retrieve. The key to good casting is to match the casting weight of your rod (in this case 10 - 40g), to a lure within that range (this lure was 21g). Over or under load the rod and your distance will drop when casting. 🎣

Ok cheers mate...if your in Ireland fishing again you should try to catch sea trout 2 hook flapper with sand eel or strips of mackerel I caught a dozen of them last year between 2 and 4 pounds..great fighting fish

Ian Togher Yes I will definitely try that when I go to Ireland next, thanks for the tip. This particular video was not in Ireland, this one was North Wales (You might be thinking of my other Bass video where I’m using bait and continental beachcasters).

Any tips on what type of environment bass generally like?
@thelureangler4346
6 жыл бұрын
Phil_Insane Really diverse environments Phil, they can be found from estuaries, shallow beaches, rough ground rock marks and shallow ground sand bars / reefs. They are not the type to go into deep waters like pollack and cod. Hope this helps Phil. 😁

What time of the year to fish for bass
@thelureangler4346
6 жыл бұрын
Beefa . Bass can be caught literally every month of the year, however bigger numbers come inshore from March through to November. It is said that the first and last month of this window has the bigger fish, and the smaller school bass coming during the height of the summer. 🎣

Peter Hammersley do they like weedy areas that are also shallow ?
@thelureangler4346
6 жыл бұрын
Beefa . Yes they do, absolutely, where they can feed on peeler crabs and small fish. The thing with bass is they are masters of being predators to so many prey in such a diverse range of sea conditions..... beaches, reefs, estuaries, sand bars, rocky ground etc.... 😁
