Great video, and say what you will, a great vocal by Andy on a great tune. Sounds like some tuning’s been done? “Might” is quite flat.

Hey! Your channel is a hidden gem. Fantastic information. One caveat… I feel like it’s worth noting that your mixing this vocal for a big big production (100 tracks), so all those aggressive settings are necessary. Do you have any videos for doing a stripped down production with a really up front and clear vocal? What mix moves would you make there? Thanks!
@HomeRecordingNetwork

Hey thanks! I tend to always use a lot of plugins on vocals 😂. Depending on the mix, settings may change. But the plug-in chain usually remains the same. At least for me! But there are plenty of ways to get the job done. 😉

@@HomeRecordingNetwork good to know! If you do a video on getting a “fire and rain” kind of mix that would be awesome 🤩

Thanks for the tutorial, concise and very pointed… This is the first time I’m viewing your channel. I’m primarily a reggae songwriter musician. I use only Logic at the moment, stock plugins and instruments and do my own mixing and mastering.. My primary concerns at this point is getting that reggae bass clean but pumping and getting my hit and miss vocals balanced but still with energy…. It’s getting that aesthetic right🥸 Have you done any work in this medium? Or is your work mostly in the pop/rock idioms? Anyway thanks for sharing and nice work…❤️💛💚

No problem! Yes my favorite stuff to work with is definitely rock but I could definitely help you out with reggae! Hit me up if you need any help! Joel@homerecordingnetwork.com I use to listen to a lot of reggae in highschool.

Great thanks. Can you put these in a BUS for all vocals tracks to use or better on each track separate?
@HomeRecordingNetwork

I would definitely keep them on separate tracks. Every track is different!

How can you have a lot of plugins and t5racks like that with no "SYSTEM OVERLOAD" happening.
@HomeRecordingNetwork

I have a lot of processing power but most computers can handle this. If you are having issues check your buffer size. You can also freeze your tracks!

Thanks for sharing this! At the very end, you turned on a bunch more effects (via busses) which transformed the vocals even more. Why leave those out of your vid? I’m still a newbie. I guess I don’t see the difference - aren’t they all effects on the vocals? Could you briefly say what you added there?
@HomeRecordingNetwork

Hey thanks! Yes those are effects sends and the video would have went on for an hour if I walked though those 😂. I have a lot of other videos showing my typical effects for vocals though! Make sure and check those out. I have a bunch of videos specifically on vocals. Let me know if you have any questions!

Its not good to use high cut in cut? ( the last part of the highs frequencies that you turn off )
@HomeRecordingNetwork

I would never roll off the highs on vocals. Only if I wanted to do some sort of effect.

KZitem doesn’t like short videos. I would not have a successful channel or make any money if I just made quick videos lol. Content creation is a tough game. Trust me, if rather make short videos as well! 😂
