If Pluto remains planet 9, would you define Ceres, Makemake, Quaoar, Sedna, Orcus, Haumea, Gongong, and Eris as planets? They are all drawf-planets roughly the same size and orbit the sun. What about comets? Where do you draw the line? We can't just keep Pluto a planet because we like it. Pluto reflects light very well, so we believed it to be much larger for a long time. I still have my old astronomy books, mostly showing Pluto as a boring and inert cratered ball no different from Mercury or the Moon, but colder this time. But after New Horizon visited it 6.5 years ago (gosh I'm old), Pluto turned out to be more beautiful and dynamic than we could ever have possibly imagined before that. I myself was shocked to see the glaciers, the icebergs, the convection cells and the ice mountains, as well as Pluto's blue atmosphere no different from Earth's but very thin only.

Even though Pluto is farthest away, still you can't look directly into the Sun. Though the Sun is more like a bright star than a yellow disc, it is actually so bright that it can still blind you (like you are staring in a laser) and even outside Pluto, the Sun as a star is incredibly bright. What's more interesting is that even the Voyagers are still firm within the Sun's gravitational powers, and that is not going to change in our lifetime.
