Thank you for your comment. The more I use the PM 728 the more I realize it was the right decision. Having all that spindle to table distance is something I really appreciate. Also variable speed is extremely important to me. Joe

Thank you for your comments and your support. The stepper motor is a real arm saver and it was a fun project. Also thank you for your greetings from Vienna, I visited Vienna in 1966 when I was stationed in Germany and I rode the great Ferris wheel. I’ll never forget it. Joe

Hi Joe, Another great video, your shop looks so well organized and layed out. Hoping to have my shop build started this fall. Yours is truly an inspiration. It looks like it’s a converted garage? (because I noticed a window in your lathe video) Thanks again Joe.

You are correct it is in the garage , we live in a condo association and I had the two car garage divided , I also had to install a gas heater because we live in Maine. I guess maybe now that we should do a shop video, I’ve had more than a few requests but I just didn’t think it was that interesting . (Obviously it is to some people)Thank you for your subscription and get going on that shop.

When you bought the machine, did you had to do any adjustments to it like any calibrations or what not? Everything was dialed in out of the box? Planning to get this machine but do not want to do any sort of calibration or servicing. Also what kind of accuracy and tolerance this machine holds? Couldn't find any info on it. Thanks.

Mine was very good, the tram was with in 1 thousands in 12” , I don’t know if they are all that good but mine was very good. I believe this is the best all around machine for a home shop.This is my 4th machine and hands down the best. As for the working tolerance , I would say 1/2 thousandth but a lot depends on your experience. Also the DRO is very helpful when working with close tolerances. I hope that this answers your questions.

@@JoesModelEngines awesome!!! What size drills and end mills have you used with the steel? And what kind of steel ? Thank you in advance!!
@JoesModelEngines
Жыл бұрын
I machine steel all the time . I’ve drilled up to 1” by stepping up then I bore if I need a larger hole. If you want to do big holes in steel all the time you might want a larger machine, but it’s definitely done everything I put it to very well. I’ve had three other machines and it’s the best by far.
